Last week,students from Class 4,Grade 8 held an English week.
The activity aims at improving the students' ability in all aspects of English.The students took an active part in the activities and prepared carefully.The following are our splendid performances.
In the first part of the English week , we had a Singing Corner . We all enjoyed a joyful song called 「Try Everything" .Listen ,the students began to sang . "Oh oh oh oooh try everything!" We sang this song together with beat . Everyone sang happily . It was such a wonderful time !
The second activity is the speaking competition about how to improve your English.In this part,all students took part in the speech.We first gave speeches to each other in our own group. Finally we chose the speaker with the most votes to speak to the whole class on the stage. Different groups had different ideas.The speakers in each group spoke loudly and clearly.They shared us their ideas and methods. After they finished their speeches, we gave some comments to them. In the end,Dreamer and Super Bear 2 won the speaking competition.
In this part,we read the article together.To understand the article better, we decided to draw a mind map. We thought that it can help us understand the article better. We worked together in groups. One drew the picture. The others write down the keywords.
How harmonious we are!
A moment later,we succeeded in finishing it. In my opinion, all the mind maps were fantastic like ours.In the end, the other groups show their mind map to us.It was so funny!
To draw a conclusion,the reading corner is not only educational ,but also interesting.It made us learn the article clearly.What's more ,we become more confident.It is a good chance for us.
The play was the most exciting part of the whole English Week. It was about the story of Robin Hood and Prince John. All of our class was looking forward to it. On that day, every group brought their props and practiced happily. Finally ,the activity began.There were four groups showed their play to us.They were all funny and full of interest.
The first group is WYZ, they showed us a funny but classical Robin Hood and Prince John.When the two guards make mistakes and started fighting, that brought us a lot of fun.
Then came to Super Bear 2. They were very brave.The had a rope and tied Maid Marian. The best character in this play is the Maid Marian, and the role-player made all of us laugh loudly.
The third group is Dreamer. All were girls in this group,but the play was also interesting. The Robin Hood wore a green hat with a feather, which caught our eyeball.They had a great job in the spoken English and we gave them big hands a lot.
Finally,KQ Rose gave us a funny show.They acted the story as the book and had many punchline.They made some paper money by colour pen and gave them to us.
The play was full of fun, and we learnt a lot .It helped us understand the story more easily and we develop the interest of learning English.
What have we learned from this English week?
The students have gained a lot in the colorful English week.Through this activity,the students learned that English is a wonderful language.Through this wonderful language, we learn about the world and love life, find beauty, and learn how to express our feelings. We learn to love our family,our friends,our classmate,our teacher. Of course,and our Class 4 Jingsi Pavilion.We will put the benefits of this activity into our daily life.What a meaningful and unforgettable experience it was.
