【例1】The police are investigating the causes of the explosion.警方正在調查爆炸的原因。
【例2】Her life was devoted to the cause of justice.她為正義事業而獻身。
【例3】She is always causing trouble for people.她總是給人添麻煩。

【真題1】In many such cases, a cursory search for causes finds that some small group of people was wearing, promoting, or developing whatever it is before anyone else paid attention.在很多這樣的情況下，一個粗略的對成因的調查發現，有一小部分的人不管先穿著什麼，提倡什麼或發展什麼，後來，其他人才注意起來。

【例1】Susan insured her car against losses caused by accident and theft.蘇珊給自己的車上了保險，以免遭受因意外事故或被盜造成的損失。
【例2】The educators should insure that each student truly gains from their education.教育者們必須保證每一個學生都真正學有所獲。

【真題】The principle of British welfare is no longer that you can insure yourself against the risk of unemployment and receive unconditional payments if the disaster happens.英國福利原則不再是你能夠為失業投保，並在災難發生時得到無條件的支付。
