能讀完這首英文繞口令,你就無敵了!(附視頻)

你的英語有多好？檢驗你的英語水平的時候到了！即使是英語為母語的外國人也不一定能讀好的一首詩，你敢挑戰一下自己嗎？

小海狸今天特地為大家帶了了一首難度四個+的英文繞口令！

英語是一個說難不難說容易不容易的語言，雖然歪果仁總是自稱自己的語言--英語很難，但是在看到中國字之後，也只能目瞪口呆，驚訝世界上居然還有長成這樣的文字！（歪果仁：這讓我怎麼學？！）

許多中國人也喜歡讓歪果仁說中國的繞口令，什麼「四是四，十是十」，或者是「吃葡萄不吐葡萄皮」這種已經是基本款了，基本上每個中國人都可以來上那麼一兩句。

可是，今天小海狸要介紹的這一個英文繞口令，卻是真真正正考驗歪果仁的英語口音的了，讀起來感覺跟趙元任先生的《施氏食獅史》有異曲同工之妙。

荷蘭詩人Gerard Nolst Trenité在1922年寫了一首名為《混亂》（The Chaos）的詩，並放話說：只有真正的英國人可以讀準詩歌裡的所有單詞。

Dearest creature in creation, 

Study English pronunciation. 

I will teach you in my verse 

Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.

I will keep you, Suzy, busy, 

Make your head with heat grow dizzy. 

Tear in eye, your dress will tear. 

So shall I! Oh hear my prayer. 

Pray, console your loving poet, 

Make my coat look new, dear, sew it! 

 

Just compare heart, beard, and heard, 

Dies and diet, lord and word, Sword and sward, retain and Britain. 

(Mind the latter, how it's written.) 

Now I surely will not plague you 

With such words as plaque and ague. 

But be careful how you speak: 

Say break and steak, but bleak and streak; 

Cloven, oven, how and low, 

Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe. 

  

Hear me say, devoid of trickery, 

Daughter, laughter, and Terpsichore, 

Typhoid, measles, topsails, aisles, 

Exiles, similes, and reviles; 

Scholar, vicar, and cigar, 

Solar, mica, war and far;

One, anemone, Balmoral, 

Kitchen, lichen, laundry, laurel; 

Gertrude, German, wind and mind, 

Scene, Melpomene, mankind. 

 

Billet does not rhyme with ballet, 

Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet. 

Blood and flood are not like food, 

Nor is mould like should and would. 

Viscous, viscount, load and broad, 

Toward, to forward, to reward. 

And your pronunciation's OK 

When you correctly say croquet, 

Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve, 

Friend and fiend, alive and live.

 

Ivy, privy, famous; clamour 

And enamour rhyme with hammer. 

River, rival, tomb, bomb, comb, 

Doll and roll and some and home. 

Stranger does not rhyme with anger, 

Neither does devour with clangour. 

Souls but foul, haunt but aunt, 

Font, front, wont, want, grand, and grant, 

Shoes, goes, does. Now first say finger, 

And then singer, ginger, linger, 

Real, zeal, mauve, gauze, gouge and gauge, 

Marriage, foliage, mirage, and age. 

 

Compare alien with Italian, 

Dandelion and battalion. 

Sally with ally, yea, ye, 

Eye, I, ay, aye, whey, and key. 

Say aver, but ever, fever, 

Neither, leisure, skein, deceiver. 

Heron, granary, canary. 

Crevice and device and aerie. 

 

Pronunciation -- think of Psyche! 

Is a paling stout and spikey? 

Won't it make you lose your wits, 

Writing groats and saying grits? 

It's a dark abyss or tunnel: 

Strewn with stones, stowed, solace, gunwale, 

Islington and Isle of Wight, 

Housewife, verdict and indict. 

 

Finally, which rhymes with enough -- 

Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough? 

Hiccough has the sound of cup. 

My advice is to give up!!!

一開始看好像很簡單是不是？讀到後面覺得是什麼鬼是不是？有多少人沒讀完第一段就放棄了的？請舉手！有多少人堅持到第二段的？請舉手！有多少人全部讀完...的？

這位英國朋友表示：「顯然90%說英語的人都不能讀這個繞口令，這說明90%的人說不了正派的英文。（髒話嗶），我要回學校重新讀書了！」

這首詩，簡直就是檢驗英文口語的權威標準啊！
