英語語法:短語in short, in summary的用法

副詞短語在句中的功能相當於副詞，通常在句中作定語、表語或者狀語。


81. in short簡而言之

用法：in short通常用於句首。同義詞組有in a word, in brief。

 

例句：In short, the building would consist of two floors. (2014年6月六級)

簡而言之，這棟建築由兩層組成。

 

語法結構分析：

In short是狀語, thebuilding是主語（the是定冠詞，作前置定語）， would consist of是謂語， two floors是賓語（two是前置定語）。(2014年6月六級)

82. in summary總的來說，歸納起來

用法：in summary常用於句首或者句中，表示總結。同義詞組有on the whole。

 

例句：In summary, I don’t know how to handle this problem.

簡而言之，這棟建築由兩層組成。

 

83. inthe beginning起初

用法：in thebeginning的位置很靈活，可置於句首、句中或者句尾。同義短語有at the beginning，反義短語有in the end。

 

例句：In the beginning, he hid his light under abushel in order to avoid the envy of others.

起初，為了避免引起別人的嫉妒，他隱藏了自己的才華。

 

84. in the future將來

用法：in the future常與將來時連用，在句中用作時間狀語。

 

例句：In the future, they will improve our healthcare, social welfare and standard of living. (2016年6月六級)

將來，他們會改善我們的醫療保健、社會福利和生活水平。
