The other 特指兩個或兩部分中的另一個或另一部分，可接單數或者複數名詞，表示兩個中「一個……另一個……」，常用結構式為：one...the other...

e.g.

1.He has two brothers,one is a teacher, the other is a docter.

他有兩個弟弟，一個是老師，另一個是醫生。

2.There are 48 students in our class,some work hard,but the other studentsdon’t.

The others 特指某一範圍內的「其他的（人或物）」相當於the other+名詞複數，指剩餘的全部。

e.g.There are 48 students in our class,some work hard,but the others don’t.

我們班有48個學生，一些學習努力，其餘的不努力。

Other「其他的，另外的」位於名詞前做定語。

e.g.We learn chinese,English,math and other subjects.

Others相當於other+名詞複數,指剩餘的另一些，並非全部。

e.g.

1.Some students are doing homework,but others are talking loudly.

一些學生正在做作業，但是其他的再大聲講話。

2.A lot of people are in the park, some are singing,others are dancing.

Another泛指同類事物中三者或三者以上中「另一個」，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞。

e.g.I don’t like this one,please show me another.

注意：another+名詞單數=one more+名詞單數

another+數詞+名詞複數=數詞+more/other+名詞複數

1.I want to have another apple.

=I want to have one more apple.

我想再吃一個蘋果。

2.We need another ten chairs.

=We need ten more/other chairs.

我們還需要十把椅子。
