Silence Is Gold
When we talk of the famous proverb "Silence is gold", we should not simply label it as right or wrong, but explore it in depth.
當我們談到「沉默是金」這一著名的諺語時，我們不應該簡單地把其標註為正確或錯誤，而應該進行深入探討。
This proverb is especiaUy true under several situations. First, if we have made a promise not to let out a secret, we should always keep silent. Second, we should avoid talking over facts or statistics of which we are not sure. Third, whenever we are expressing our ideas， brevity is the soul of wit and talking too much will always lead to faults and mistakes.
這一諺語在一些情況下尤其如此。首先，如果我們作出了承諾要保守秘密，我們應該始終保持沉默。第二，我們應該避免談論我們不確定的事實或統計數據。第三，無論什麼時候我們表達自己的想法時，言貴簡潔，說話太多往往會導致錯誤。
Nevertheless, there are also some exceptions. If we find out a flaw in other's speaking or writing, we should not hesitate a moment to point it out. And to friends or acquaintances seeking advice, we should feel free to help them.
不過，也有一些例外。如果我們在他人的說話或寫作中發現了一個錯誤，我們應該毫不猶豫地指出來。在朋友或熟人徵尋意見時，我們應該隨時幫助他們。
In a word, we can draw the conclusion that in most cases "silence is gold", but in certain circumstances, talking is the right choice. (155 words)
總之，我們可以得出這樣的結論，在大多數情況下「沉默是金」，但在某些情況下，說話是正確的選擇。
