蟬
The Cicada

A sudden burst of rain hit the cicada. Its wings soaked through, it was unable to fly. Inching its way with great exertion, it crawled onto the bared roots of an evergreen pine tree. A raindrop, previously anchored by a pine needle, could no longer hold onto it and fell right onto the wings of the cicada. The pitiable little insect, giving off a sizzling sound, rolled over onto the ground.
Little raindrop, are you making fun of such a paltry insect? Look, ants are coming this way! Wild birds too are soon to spot their prey!
