The epidemic touches the heart of everybody. On ZUST campus, international students from all over the world are also contributing their efforts to the battle.
Although they come from different places in the world, their life and hearts are closely connected with ours.
Many of them write articles to support the battle against the epidemic, and bravely move forward with their love for China.
Battling the epidemic, we have never been alone, and responsibility on our shoulder encourages us to fight against the fear of darkness.
When the spring comes, let our love for China and courage for life come over everything. We will be grateful for the warm and precious persistence, and wait for the light of hope to bloom again.

COVID-19 Battle at ZUST
我們在一起，你並不孤單
——科院抗「疫」小記
The COVID-19 caught everyone off guard, this in turn inflicted panic to all persons. Apparently, there has been an uneasy demeanor, being oblivious to the efforts being enumerated pace-fully to fight this epidemic. As expected, everyone had plans for their holidays, but the epidemic gave no heads up, leaving us with no choice but to stay indoors and follow the security measures in play, thus which is one of the commendable painstaking developments at hand.
這個冬天，新冠病毒來得如此猝不及防，讓人陷入了恐慌。顯然，很多人憂心忡忡，他們並不十分清楚政府和社會為了抗擊疫情而進行的努力。和以往一樣，人們在假期規劃了很多行程，但最終都只能放棄而留在家裡，遵守各項要求。儘管這給人們帶來了種種不便，但卻有效遏制了疫情的發展。
We are all witnessing meritorious works targeted at fighting the COVID-19, giving us hope and certainty, the Chinese government implementing measures, front-line workers tirelessly working day and night garnering extensive support from everyone. Here is what we realized; 「A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is for」, we (ZUST international students) also challenged ourselves to put our best foot forward, contributing within our capacity towards winning the battle against the epidemic.
為了抗擊疫情，社會各界作出了種種努力，給我們帶來了無限的希望和信心。中國政府積極實施各項政策，一線工作晝夜不停，社會各界鼎力相助。這不禁讓我們想到一句話：船停放在港口是安全的，但這並不是造船的目的。作為浙江科技學院的一份子，我們留學生同樣作出了最大的努力，力爭打贏這場戰爭，共克時艱。
How are the international students of ZUST fighting the Epidemic?
我們同氣連枝，抗疫偕行
We joined the battle earlier on, during the early stages of the outbreak, at that time students still had the liberty to move out of their dorms going to shopping malls but in limited frequencies. The International Student Union obtained masks from the university that we voluntarily distributed to students in dorms and out of campus, during the distribution we also encouraged students to at least buy bulk supplies since the chances of them going out was obviously going to be slim. We started raising awareness amongst the students, communicating through our WeChat official account, encouraging students to be productive whilst staying indoors during the outbreak period and ensured the provision of interesting online activities such as debate, chess, music corner and programming among others, so that we could minimize boredom to all international students. On the same note, the international students have been cooperative, abiding by the school regulations and the measures implemented making it easy for the school to manage.
在疫情爆發的初期，浙江科技學院的留學生們就加入了這場戰爭。起初，在校學生可以自由出入宿舍、購物，只是次數有限制。學校為學生提供了口罩，留學生會協助將這些口罩分發給住在校內外的學生，並建議他們儲備足夠的生活物資，因為日後出行會受限。我們通過各種方式和渠道來提醒學生注意防範，例如利用微信公眾號鼓勵學生不要出門，在宿舍裡度過有意義的假期。同時提供豐富的線上活動，例如辯論、象棋、音樂等，讓學生的閒暇生活變得有趣多彩。我們的留學生們也積極配合學校的各項舉措，服從學校管理。

浙科領導、教職工堅定守護，溫暖同行
Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, the school has had instant reactions and proved to have stayed very alert. Noting down with appreciation to the appeal of both the President and Vice-President of ZUST to be leading teams in visiting international student dorms earlier on, showing their concern over student safety. The International Student Affairs Center teachers have been tirelessly working in ensuring that students follow the regulations and so as to protect themselves. After receiving the notice which commenced that students were no longer allowed to go out of the dorms, we were worried so much about food issues only to realize that the ISAC had planted solutions. Following communication between students and their advisors, the logistics department commenced helping students to purchase and deliver at dorms which simplified it for students who were facing difficulties ordering food stuff online. Those of us who have been a link between the school and all international students also realized that teachers were sacrificing their time, doing a tiresome job, so we decided to be joined in the front-line of COVID-19 battle at ZUST. Every day we have one volunteer at each dorm working hand in hand with concierges and teachers checking students』 movements and giving them help when needed.
疫情爆發後，學校高度重視，積極應對。校長和分管副校長紛紛走訪留學生宿舍，關心學生們的安全，溫暖了每位留學生。留學生中心的老師們為了確保學生遵守紀律、健康安全，不分晝夜的工作。校園和宿舍封閉管理通知發布後，學生們起初對於食物儲備非常擔憂，萬幸留學生中心已經準備了解決方案。輔導員們負責了解學生的需求，後勤部門進行採購，並且將食物分發到學生手中，解決了許多學生線上採購的困難。我們中的一些學生，意識到老師們犧牲了自己的休息時間，於是決定加入到作戰的隊伍當中來。我們每天指派一名志願者駐守在每棟宿舍樓，與門衛和老師們一起核查學生們的行動，並及時提供幫助。

The war we are fighting today against COVID-19 is a multifaceted fight. We have to use every tool in our toolkit, patience, unity, cooperation and faith to conquer the enemy. Dawn Will Come. Consider that someone is working hard as you’re to protect safety of others and worry not, 「worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength」.
新冠疫情阻擊戰無疑是複雜多變的。我們必須想盡一切辦法，堅定信念、團結合作、堅持不懈，戰勝敵人。黎明終將到來。想想那些勇往直前、保護他人的戰士們，我們就不必擔憂，因為「憂慮不會消除明天的痛苦，卻只會耗盡今天的力氣」。
