Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) is showcasing a MA700 mock-up at the MAKS 2015 World Air Show held in the small Science town of Zhukovsky, Moscow, Russia on Aug. 25-30. It is the China-made aircraft's first appearance in an international airshow outside China.
The MA700 is a 70-seat regional turboprop developed by AVIC in line with the international market demand.
The prototype aircraft is under development, said AVIC. The aircraft will be off the final assemble line and make its maiden flight in 2017. It is scheduled to get an airworthiness certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in 2019.
AVIC won 185 orders for the MA700 aircraft from 11 customers last week, marking a new milestone in the development of the MA700 project.
