潘基文理事長新年賀辭
親愛的博鰲大家庭的朋友們：
值此辭舊迎新之際，我百感交集。衷心祝願各位和你們的家人、同事、朋友新年快樂！
2020年，對於我們每個人來說，都是艱難的一年。仍在肆虐的疫情、死亡和病痛，前景未卜、困難重重的經濟形勢，倍受幹擾的社會生活以及尚未明朗的未來走勢，伴隨著我們步入新年。
儘管如此，我們正看到希望的曙光。許多國家已經掌握了更好應對第二波疫情的方法，疫苗漸行漸近，面市步伐加快，全球領導力得以重新凝聚，共同抗疫。各國達成一致，協調彼此宏觀經濟政策，確保大蕭條式的崩盤不會重演。聯合國有關氣候變化和可持續發展的目標繼續受到多國領導人的高度重視。
化危為機，機不可失。展望未來，我們應該重新審視我們的醫療衛生體系、經濟金融框架和全球治理結構。本次疫情前有先例、後有來者。而當下一次大疫來臨時，無論何時、何地、以何種方式爆發，我們都應未雨綢繆、有備無患。
如果2020年年底的幹勁得以延續，2021年將有可能成為撫平傷痛、復甦經濟、調和社會之年。只要我們攜手同心，我們就有理由對此樂觀，如果我們能做到痛定思痛、作為有道，那麼我們就有更大把握為亞洲、為世界打造一個更加美好的共享未來。
各位博鰲亞洲論壇的朋友們：
過去的一年中，你們始終堅持作為有道。雖然線下會議無法召開，但你們依然一如既往地積極推動我們共同的事業。論壇理事和諮委圍繞全球合作抗疫和多邊應對疫情的經濟社會影響發聲暢言。論壇發起國全力遏制本國病毒傳播的同時，盡其所能向他國施以援手。論壇會員和合作夥伴想方設法復工復產，同時確保廣大員工健康安全並身體力行企業社會責任。李保東秘書長和論壇秘書處迎難而上，創新求解，成績斐然。通過積極發出亞洲和新興經濟體的聲音，博鰲亞洲論壇展示出其力量和韌性。
我們將在2021年迎來博鰲亞洲論壇20周年華誕，意義非凡！回首過去，碩果纍纍；展望未來，任重道遠。博鰲大家庭的集體願景和智慧使我對新的一年信心十足。我們將共襄盛典、不負榮譽、踐行責任、滿懷希望。同心協力，我們將在2021年開啟博鰲亞洲論壇下一個20年的輝煌篇章。讓我們一起大聲道出：祝賀博鰲亞洲論壇！
New Year's Greetings 2021

Dear Friends of the Boao Family,
I have a mixed feeling at this time when we say goodbye to the year 2020 and embrace the year 2021. It is from deep inside that I wish you, your family,colleagues and friends a Happy New Year.
The year 2020 was indeed a tough year for us all. Tough because of still on-going pandemic, the loss of lives and human sufferings, the economic uncertainties and hardships, the social disruption and an uncertain future as we enter a new year. But we’re seeing encouraging signs of hope. Countries have learnt how to be better prepared for the second wave. Vaccines are well on their way to market sooner and faster. Global leadership is coming back for a global response to the virus. Countries have agreed to coordinate their macro-economic policies to prevent a free fall into the Great Depression. Climate change and sustainable development goals of the UN remain high on the agenda of leaders.
No crisis should be wasted. Looking ahead, we should and many are starting to review our healthcare systems, our economic and financial architectures and the global governance structure. This pandemic is not the first of kind, nor will it be the last. The next pandemic, whenever, wherever and however it hits, shall not catch us unprepared again.
The year 2021 promises to be a year of pain relief, economic recovery and social harmony if the year-end momentum continues. We have good reasons to be optimistic if we stand together as one. The chances of a better shared future for Asia and for the world would only increase, if we learn the right lesson and do the right thing.
Frends of the Boao Forum for Asia, you have been doing the right thing during the past year. Though in-person meetings are mostly impossible, you have been as active as ever in our common undertakings. Members of the Board of Directors and the Council of Advisors have spoken loud for a global response to the pandemic, and a multilateral approach towards its economic and social consequences. Our initial countries have done their utmost to bring the virus under control, and lent a helping hand to neighbours where they can. The BFA corporate members and partners have tried all possible ways to carry on in daily business, take good care of staff and employees, and fulfill due CSR duties. Secretary General Li Baodong and the BFA Secretariat deserve special credit for their innovative and outstanding performance at such a difficult moment. The Boao Forum for Asia has proven its strength and resilience as the voice for Asia and emerging economies.
The year 2021 also marks the 20th Anniversary of the Boao Forum for Asia. It is a moment of special significance. We have much to look back on and commemorate, and much more to look forward to and strive for. The collective vision and wisdom of the Boao Family gives me full confidence in a year of festivity, honor, responsibility and hope. By working together, we can make the year 2021 a good start for another 20 years of glory in the history of the Forum.I invite you to join me in speaking loudly: 「 The Boao Forum for Asia, Congratulations.」
