Hi I’m Champ. I look great don’t I? You probably wouldn’t think so 5 months ago before I was rescued out of the other shelter. I had really bad demodex and was really justskin and bones. Sue came into theshelter one day to give my roomie Sushi his much needed medicine and she heard me whine in the crate, so she opened the door for me to come out. I could tell she was surprised to see me inthe condition that I was in along with my big size . However, Sue was very nice to me. She started to play with me and give mewater. I noticed her talking with thecaretaker and soon, she popped 2 pills in my mouth. From then on, I had medicine to take. After about a week, Sue was back with some people who took me into a car and to the hospital. I stayed there for more than a month. I loved it there. I had lots of great food, medical care, nicewalks, and people to play with me every day (as that is all I want) . Then a great American family fostered me and they took me to play ball (my love) and they gave me so much love (which I hadn’t had). The family had to go back to the States so Sue and Denise took me to their own shelter. I have a lot of fun here too. I』ve made some friends, but because I am so big, it’s hard for me to stay in my own pen, which is why I jump out a lot. Although I get a lot of really good food (I love to eat) and exercise, it’s not exactly the same as when I was in ahome with a family. Sue and Denise promised me a great family by Thanksgiving, so I am counting the days till then.

Hello, I'm Batman and I am a girl. Actually I am no longer alive. I passed away last month. I was really really old. I survived my first surgery to remove my hernia. That was making me feel very badand painful. I was left with it at the previous shelter and when the gals rescued me they found the hernia. They operated with the chance that I may not make it because of my old age. But I made it through and went to stay at the new shelter. I was pampered. I had the best room and the only one with a doggie beg. Denise made sure to give it to me. I also had a bunch of wonderful kids that raised money just for me. Thank God and God bless those kids. Last month they discovered an open wound and the doc said if they operated I may not survive because of the anethesia. If they didn't operate, they said I would be in pain. In the end, they took the chance and I am glad that they did because I was in pain. After a week or so I just couldn't make it through and I passed away on July 11th. They buried me with my blankie and I am so happy to stay close by the shelter. My last few months, I was happy and healthy and had great food. Sue and the gals will always be with me.

HI, I'm Mama dog. They call me that because when Sue first cameto the shelter I was pregnant. I was the first 3 of the rescues to receivemedical attention. I had really bad demodex and was really suffering. It was hard for Sue and the doc because as much as I needed the meds, I was also pregnant. Sue said that my health and well-being had to come first. So I continued to take my meds. All my 6 pups died about 3 weeks in, but I know it was not anyone's fault. After 2 months on the medication, my skin started to improve and my fur was starting to grow back. 3 months later, I was looking better than ever. There was a period of time where the owner of that shelter closed the shelter off to everyone and Sue wasn't able to visit. By the time she came back to see us, my condition had returned. It scared her and she decided to rescue me out of that shelter along with the other 30 dogs. I'm grateful she did. At the new shelter, I continued my meds, got baths, and have good food and clean water every day. My skin improved after 2 months now I feel great and energetic again. I hope that someday I can have a place to call my home. I like to just chill most of the time. Maybe someday....

Hi. My name is Gandolf. I looked like a tangled mop. When they rescued me they had to shave me before the first adoption day. It took them a long time since I kind of put up a fight. This is also why the previous shelter put me on the euthanize list. They felt I was aggressive. I am appreciative that thegirls felt I was the product of my environment. It was tough living in the pen with others without food or water and never being able to come out. I had allergies and was given medicine to help me feel better. That helped me a lot. After 1 month at My PAWS and Me, I really felt much better both physically and emotionally. I was in a pen with 3 others, but they felt Ineeded more space so they gave me my own pen with my own food and water bowl. That was completely new to me. I felt really happy with my own space. Last month they discovered that I was pregnant. They started to fuss overgiving me a better pen and helped make things more comfortable for me and my pups. Two weeks ago, I gave birth to 5 puppies. One of them was accidently killed, but my other 4 are thriving. One of my pups which was named Simba has a deformity in his legs. Sue and Lily took him to the doc and brought him back that day as they were afraid he'd be hungry and didn't want him away from me too long. I appreciate everyone for giving me another chance. My puppies are well fed, happy, and I hope that they will go to great families oneday. As for me, I would like to settlein with someone who will just let me be who I am....sometimes playful,sometimes just chill. Maybe someday soon..

Hi my name is Moppy. I was very shy in the beginning. Actually not just shy, but I wanted anyone around me. I didn't have a good life at my previous shelter so I didn't like people in gneral. I always stayed in my corner. I don't like rice. I only like treats. I slowly learned to trust people and now I love vcoming out of my pen. I wag my tail when we have visitors. Hi I’m Monday. I was in really bad condition as you can see in my pictures. My fur was hanging on to my skin, and the rest of my body was red. I didn’t feel well at all. Infact, I was suffering. I made circles around myself all the time. People thought I had a horrible disease so they were scared of me, but Sue and the gals weren’t. They tried to talk to me. One day, a doctor came into our pen and started to play with me. I can tell she was sad inside because her eyes were teary. That's when they all took me to the hospital. I stayed there for over a month. They gave me medication, socialized me onwalks, and fed me delicious food. Sue would visit and I could see she was happy to see my progress. After I got better,she took me to their shelter where I continued my medicine. I have my own cage and I』ve made considerable progress (as I hear Sue and doc say). They take my picture all the time so I guess I do look great. I don’t circle as much anymore and I really do like it here, but I hope someone with a little patience can take me home andI can dance around for them.

Hi, my name is Michy. I was sitting by myself in a corner when I met Sue. She looked at me like with tears in her eyes. I had bruises and cutd on me. Plus I really didn't look happy. She tried to talk to me but I just stayed in my corner. One day, Sue and the gals rescued us and I was only of the dogs taken to the hospital. They found that I had demodex and I was given meds. Soon, I was fostered by a lady who totally taught me the meaning of love. She was my mommy, I loved her. About 5 months later, she got a new job and moved to Hong Kong. She couldn't take me. I do miss her, but I was lucky to have her foster me for all that time She will visit me and I heard that she is trying to find a way to take me to Hong Kong, but because of the long quarentine time, she is afraid it won't be good for me. Let's hope they find a way.

Hi, I'm Darcy. Yes, it's a girl's name, but I am a boy. I was so aggressive before Sue and the girls couldn't tell if I was a boy or girl. So they named me Darcy. That name just stuck. I don't mind, I rather like it. I am much better now. The girls pet me all the time. I just need some time to get use to all this love that goes on at My PAWS and Me. It wasn't like this at all at the previous shelter. We fought for water, yes water. I remember Sue coming to visit and the first thing she would do is fill up our water. Everyone ran to it like it was chicken. I don't have to worry about water now. In fact, there is water everywhere and I am well fed too. I like to walk around with my buddies and just chill. I hope one day I can warm up to someone special. Just maybe....

My name is Marley. My story begins at the previous shelter. I was also marked as aggressive, but actually I was just really scared. Sue and the doc came to put a leash on me and I thought they wanted to take me somewhere to kill me. The shelter put me on the euthanize list so I thought it was my turn. I was dirty. My fur tangled and I had serious skin issues. The doc wanted to leash me and take me to the hospital, but I resisted so much that there was no way they could take me. They didn't give up on me though. Sue gave meds to the care taker there and he attempted to give them to me. It was on and off. When the girls came to rescue us out, I didn't put up a big fight because in my heart I knew that they were going to rescue us. However, even at the new shelter, people were afraid of me. I didn't look that great in the first place. One day, I ran off. Almost 3 weeks later during the heaavy rains, Sue and her family were walking their daughter Ava to school. I showed up right in front of her. She was so surprised. Literally screaming with happiness. I'm not sure how I ended up at her house. I've never been there before and it was 3 weeks of thunderstorms, but I made it to Sue. When she saw me, she immediately took me to the hosptial to get checked and then back to the shelter. I can tell everyone really cared about me. I'm less aggressive now. As to Sue, well, so far, she's the only one that is able to shower me and sit with me in my pen. She comes in and she just talks to me. I love Sue. Actually I am grateful for them all, but I have a special bond with Sue. Maybe someday someone like Sue will take me home and I can have a special bond with them too. Maybe some day soon

My name is Mufasa, the most aggressive of thethe pack of 30 as they say. Sue and I believe otherwise. I'm actually just really scared. I was living in a pen by myself with all the sides covered so I didn't get to see the outside world verymuch. No one dared to come near me even to clean my pen or give me food and water. I remember when Sue used to come to the shelter, she would come to my pen and talk to me. Yes, I barked at her, but that's my way of communicating. She would bring treats and eggs and filled up my bowl with water. I have been at the shelter a long time. Even through the hot summer months I had a thick coat. No one helped shave it off. I was really hot. My previous shelter decided that I was just too mean and put me on the euthanize list. I didn't hurt anyone, but that is what they decided to do. One day, Sue and the gals came and took us to their shelter. The caretaker there knew I was uncomfortable with the heavy thick fur, so she asked the doc to come and shave me. It took a long time for me to sleep, but they did it. I really didn't mean to bit the doc when I woke up. I hope she forgives me. I am much happier now at My PAWS and Me. I can tell Sue is trying very hard to get to know me better. I never had that before so it may take some time, but I hope they all know I really am happier and like it here at the shelter. I just hope one day a very patient person will come over and spend some time with me. Someday maybe.

Hello, my name is Xiao Dun. I was one of the first 3 rescues and not originally part of the 30 dogs that were going to be euthanized. Last year, when Sue first came to the shelter she saw me and two other dogs with horrible skin issues. We were in really horrible condition. Very malnourished, had demodex, and just not doing well. Sue brought the doc and they did some tests. Soon, I was taken medicine every day. After about 2 months, I was gaining weight and my skin was demodex free. I started to feel so happy and alive. After I got better, the shelter didn't contine to take care of me very well and my skin started to revert back again. There was a time that the shelter didn't allow any visitors and Sue wasn't able to come see us. So after about 1 month, my skin became very bad. When Sue and the girls came to rescue the 30 dogs, they decided to take me and Mama dog out as well. Today, myskin looks great. I've continued to gain weight and I am a really good protective dog. I like to protect Sue from the other dogs and I hope one day I can help protect a family too.

My name is Sherlock. I was actually adopted out of my previous shelter, but I bit the owner so they returned me. Because of this, I was put onthe euthanize list because they said I was too aggressive. When Sue,Denise, and the doc came to the shelter they didn't feel I was that aggressive (never bit them). They knew that being locked up with so many dogs in a pen without ever coming out was not healthy. It wasn't the best environment for me. At the new shelter, I have my own pen with my own food and water bowl. They let me come out twice a day to play and stretch. My favorite is Tiger the volunteer that comes to play, shower, and carefor us. I hope that I can find someone like him with his patience and loving heart. I'll admit, I was adopted out 2 months ago, but I was returned because I bit that man too. I like it here at My PAWS and Me, but as Ithink about it more. I would like to have someone care for me, just meso maybe I'll stop biting for the right owner.

Hi, I'm Sushi. I looked horrible didn't I? Well, I had this thick heavy collar around my neck left by my previous owner. He took me to the previous shelter and left me there. I had really bad skin disease and they tied me to the corner with only just a foot step of room to move. I was kept like that for a long long time. I didn't even have room to do my business, it was really bad. Sue came to visit the shelter and when she saw me, she always tried to convince the people there to releash my leash. After a few months, they took me into the same pin as Mufasa. There they left me off leash but that's because they thought he was aggressive too and they never really came to look at us. My skin continued to get really bad. Sue came and brought medicine for me. They continued my medicine until Sue and the gals came to rescue us from being euthanized. I wasn't much to look at for the past 4 months, but the doc started me on some great meds and after the 2 baths given by Sue (I've never had a bath before), look at me now. They say I'm looking great. I feel great too. I've really mellowed down and warmed up to Sue who comes to talk to me in my pen. They are all amazed by this. I hope one day soon, more people can join me in my pen and then I can go home with a family and join them in their home. Maybe someday soon
