「鼠目寸光」，字面意思是老鼠的眼睛只能看到一寸遠（The eyes of a rat can see only an inch of light ）。用來形容「目光短淺，沒有遠見」，可以翻譯為「as short-sighted as mice，see no further than one's nose」。
