就比如"nine-nine table"

nine-nine table是九九乘法表，乘法表可以用times table表示，書面用語是multiplication table。
table除了桌子的意思外，還有一些別的意思和表達，我們一起重新認識一下這個熟悉的陌生詞table吧！

table作動詞，常用於美語，意思是擱置提議或計劃。
例子：
Let『s table this.
我們日後再說。
on the table直譯就是在桌子上，可以引申為公開地，相反off the table就是指不予討論、離開桌面。
例子：
We know they can't sign an illegal agreement, but let's take that off the table.
我們都知道不能籤署違法合同,那就只能私底下籤協議了
on the table搭配不同的動詞，有很多不同的意思哦！
put food on the table是一句美國俚語，意思是養家餬口。
例子：
They work all day long, many of them scraping by, just to put food on the table.
他們終日辛勞，許多人省吃儉用，只不過是為了養家餬口。
put your cards on the table這個習語是從打牌中來的，在牌桌把牌亮出來，就是開誠布公、坦白說的意思。
例子：

leave it on the table本意是把...留在桌上，也可以理解為（把事情）放一放，以後再說。
例子：
If we can't reach an agreement, just leave it on the table!
如果我們不能達成一致，就以後再說。
at the table是指在餐桌前、坐在餐桌旁，不一定在吃飯，也可以引申為在談判中；而at table是指吃飯、就餐，強調」吃飯「這個動作進行時。
例子：
We have dinner at the table together.
我們一塊在餐桌旁吃的晚餐。
We found them at table.
我發現他們正在就餐。
要說最出名的桌子，除了最後的晚餐中那張大長桌，丸子馬上就想到了亞瑟王King Arthur的大圓桌，在圓桌上誕生了一群忠誠的圓桌騎士Knights of the Round table。
round table引申意就是多人間的公開討論、會議，通常是人人可以對話、平等的會議。round-table是形容詞，意思是圓桌的，協商的，非正式的。
例子：
It gives me great pleasure to attend this Round Table and talk about the reform of the United Nations.
我很高興參加這次圓桌會議，並願藉此機會談一談聯合國改革問題。
