To mark the 2015 World Meteorological Day, meteorological departments at all levels hold a variety of outreach activities including opening up, exhibitions, lectures, etc, attracting public people to learn knowledge on meteorology and disaster preparedness.
On March 21, the Hunan Provincial Meteorological Bureau held a lecture on them of 「all of us paying attention to climate」. Many middle school student and pupils attended the lecture. The lecture given by meteorologist introduced the knowledge on climate and called for actions for low carbon life.
In Chongqing, on March 21, the Chongqing Municipal Meteorological Bureau invited young students to experience TV weather anchor. There are 11 student selected from schools attended the activity. The student also visited the Chongqing Municipal Meteorological Bureau to have a close touch with meteorology.
In Xuchang, Henan province, on March 21, the local meteorological observing station welcomed to the first visitors. More than 30 school students came to the national reference observation station to learn the knowledge on observation.
On March 20, in the Nankang district of Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, the local meteorological bureau came to Pingshi middle school to carry out outreach activities marking the World Meteorological Day. Meteorological workers distributed materials on disaster preparedness.
On March 21, the Huizhou municipal meteorological bureau, Guangdong province, held an outreach activity at the south square. Meteorological science video, films, observation equipment, materials were presented. Meteorological workers also answered questions of visiting people on knowledge of disaster preparedness, addressing climate change and others.
On March 22, the Shaoxing municipal meteorological bureau, Zhejiang province, in together with the local meteorological society, opened municipal observatory, Zhe Kezhen memorial, simulation observing station and others. Meteorological experts introduced the process of weather forecast, early warning signal, preparedness of extreme weather, climate change and others to the visitors.
