Dear Jim,

Knowing you are conducting a survey of the housework that high school students do at home, I’m writing to tell you about what I do.

Although my school schedule is rather tight, I still manage to help with the housework from time to time. I will clean up after dinner. I also help with other things like sweeping and dusting. Every once in a while, I will cook something for my family. So far, my spaghetti has been the most delicious dish.

I think high school students should do some housework. For one thing, by doing housework we learn to take responsibility at home, and in the longer term, in society. For another, I find the time spent doing housework with my parents really fun and rewarding; we chat with each other and sometimes even sing together. Doing housework can be a great break from my busy school work.
