On March 26th, Zheng Guoguang, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) met with a visiting delegation led by Dr. Abdulaziz Aliasser, Director of Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, Saudi Arabia, in Beijing. Mr Shen Xiaonong, Deputy Administrator of CMA, attended the meeting.

Zheng extends warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He says that CMA and PME have carried out long-term cooperation in the fields of weather modification, Global Information System Centre (GISC) construction, Asian regional climate monitoring, FOCARAII and others. CMA will continue to share experiences to promote two sides' meteorological development. In order to make better contribution to disaster preparedness and mitigation and addressing climate change, he hoped two sides could enhance management-level communication, scientific and technological cooperation, talents training and improve coordination of handling WMO affairs.
PME delegation thanked CMA for the supporting of bilateral exchange. Abdulaziz Aliasser said both sides should continuously improve scientific and technological capacities. The cooperation in the aspects of climate service, GISC, WMO Information System (WIS), satellite remote sensing should be strengthened, he hoped.

The PME delegation visited National Climate Center, National Meteorological Center, National Satellite Meteorological Center and other operational centers of CMA. (Mar.27)
