東北財經大學作為中國教育部試點高校獲得來華留學教育質量認證，是中國政府獎學金、國際中文教師獎學金、遼寧省政府獎學金接收院校及孔子學院專職教師儲備學校，是國家漢語水平考試和商務漢語考試考點，建有孔子學院績效評價與財務管理研修基地，在美國、荷蘭、斯洛伐克建有三所孔子學院。曾榮獲全國「來華留學教育先進集體」稱號。
東北財經大學來華留學生教育經過三十多年的發展建設，先後培養了來自120多個國家的上萬名留學生，現已形成了包括留學生本科、碩士研究生、博士研究生（含全英文授課）學歷教育和預科、漢語（商務漢語）長短期進修及學分交換等非學歷教育在內的較為科學的來華留學生教育格局。

Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is located in Dalian in the northeast of China. Dalian is one of the most vibrant cities in China and also a great place to live and study. DUFE was founded in 1952 and now it becomes one of China’s top-ranked finance, banking and economics universities, consistently in the top three places for cultivating the most qualified graduates. DUFE is located in Dalian.
DUFE insists on discipline-orientated strategy. Among the existing disciplines, Finance, Industrial Economics and Accounting are national key disciplines approved by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance, and Quantitative Economics is the national key (cultivation) discipline. There are 6 first-level discipline postdoctoral research stations which subjects are Theoretical Economics, Applied Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Science and Engineering. There are 6 first-level discipline Doctor's authorizations, 42 second-level discipline Doctor's authorizations and 16 categories full-time Master’s authorizations such as Finance, International Business, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. DUFE offers 41 bachelor's degree program, including Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Taxation, Insurance, Engineering Management, Tourism Management, which are national characteristic majors, and Economic Statistics, Public Finance, Science of Banking, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Logistics, Accounting, Financial Management, Labor and Social Security, E-Commerce, Tourism Management which are in National list of first-class undergraduate program construction.
As a pilot university of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the university has obtained the quality accreditation on studying abroad in China. It is one of the host institutes of Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Teacher Scholarship, Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship and a Confucius Institute Full Time Teacher Reserve School. It is also a test center of national Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) and Business Chinese Test (BCT), and has established the Confucius Institute Performance Evaluation and Financial Management Research and Training Center. DUFE was once awarded the Nationwide Outstanding Institute for International Student Education.
DUFE has more than thirty years』 experience of international education, and cultivated above 10,000 graduates of DUFE come from 120+ countries. DUFE has set up an International Students Education Management System which includes degree programs both in Chinese medium and English medium, with the level of undergraduate, master and PhD. The system also provides non-degree programs including short-term or long-term Chinese language & Business Chinese language courses, visiting programs and credit exchange programs.
