Firstly, keeping the marine mammals in the aquarium is harmful to their mental health. Animals are like humans. They have feelings and want freedom. People have no right to imprison them or force them to do something they don’t want to. In some aquaria, animals are trained to perform and play tricks even when they are injured. This makes them feel unhappy and exhausted and even leads to death. Researches also show that bad mental health reduces animals』 life span. It is clear that aquaria are not ideal places for marine mammals to live.
首先，把海洋生物養在水族館對這些動物的精神造成傷害。動物和人很像，它們也有感覺，渴望自由。人類沒有權利將它們囚禁起來或者逼迫它們做它們不想做的事。在一些海洋館裡，動物們被訓練去表演，甚至在它們受傷時也如此。這麼做會讓它們不開心並且筋疲力盡，甚至導致一些動物的死亡。研究也表明心理健康受損會減少動物的壽命。很明顯水族館不適宜海洋生物們居住。
Secondly, having aquaria where animals don’t have freedom is very bad for education. When young people see animals performing, they will think animals as something for humans to have fun with, rather than what we should care for and protect. If we set these animals free and let them go back to the ocean, young people will realize that animals have their own life and people need to respect them and be kind to them. This is the real meaning of education. When people want to know more about marine mammals, they can read books or dive into the ocean to see the animals』 natural habitats with their own eyes.
第二，水族館不是好的教育方式。當年輕人看到動物在表演雜耍，他們會認為動物是供人類玩樂的，而不是應該受到我們的關愛和尊重。如果我們把這些動物放生，讓它們回到海洋，年輕人會意識到動物有它們自己的生活，人類需要尊重它們並且對它們友好。這才是教育的真實意義。當人們想要了解海洋生物時，它們可以讀書或者潛入海洋，來親眼領略它們的自然生活環境。
As we can see, aquaria are hurtful to the animals and they are not good for education. If I were the manager of the aquarium, I would shut down my business and set all the marine mammals free.
我們可以看到，水族館對動物是有害的，而且也不是好的教育方式。如果我是水族館的經理，我會停止營業，將海洋生物放生。
