上一節，我們說的beat是「擊敗」的意思，今天的 beat 是 「跳動」。今天我們要區分的單詞是：beat、hit、strike的用法區別：
beat指「連續不斷地打擊；有節律的跳動」；
He is still alive. His heart is still beating. 他還活著，他的心臟還在跳動。
Listen. Someone is beating the drum. 聽！有人敲鼓。
hit指「一次性地撞擊、命中」；
He fired and hit the target. 他開了槍，命中目標。
She hit the thief on the head. 她打中了小偷的頭。
strike與hit基本同義，尤其指「重擊」，也可表示「劃火柴)」、鐘的敲擊等。
The little struck the third match and saw her grandpa. 小姑娘劃著了第三根火柴，她看到了爺爺。
The boat struck the rock and broke into pieces. 小船撞上了礁石，碎了。
The clock always strikes 13 times at one o'clock. 這個鐘在 1 點的時候，總是敲 13 下。
