詞語辨析：agree to / agree with有些英語教師簡單化地告訴學生，agree with後面的賓語是sb.，而agree to後面的賓語是sth.。
這是不夠全面的，因為agree with後面的賓語也可以是sth.。實際上，最好從含義入手將這兩個詞組區別開來。
agree with主要有兩個含義，一是同意某人的觀點、看法
(have the same opinion as)，其後面的賓語可以是人，也可以是某人講的話或某人所持的觀點。例如：
I agree with you：the man is guilty.I'm afraid I shall never agree with you about raising taxes.Do you agree with me that smoking should be prohibited in all offices?I agree with all you say.They do not agree with buying expensive presents for children.
agree with的另一個含義是「適合於」(=be suitable to) ，其主語一般是食物、氣候、條件、環境等，其後面的賓語是人。例如：
The cold damp climate there did not agree with Tom.He always felt unwell.Mutton does not agree with me.
短語agree to有「接受」(accept) 的意思， 其後面的賓語常為建議、條件、計劃、安排等。如：
I wonder if they will agree to our terms.Do you u agree to having him as your assistant?
值得注意的是，你所agree with的或agree with你的人或事物都是你贊同、喜歡的(regard with favor)，而你所agree to的東西則不一定是自己喜歡的。例如：
The country agreed to the arrangement under pressure.
該國是在壓力下才同意這個辦法的。
The workers threatened to strike unless the employers agreed to raising their pay by 8%.
工人們威脅說，除非僱主同意把他們的工資提高8%，否則他們就要舉行罷工。
還有一點值得注意的是，agree with不用被動語態， 而agree to則可用被動語態，如：
The mediator's proposal was finally agreed to by.the conflicting parties.
