[0003] Encoding and interleaving allow the receiver to recover the tranitted traffic data in the presence of degradations in the received symbols. The encoding may include err detection coding that allows the receiver to detect for errs in the received traffic data and/or forward err correction (FEC) coding that allows the receiver to correct for errs in the received traffic data. FEC coding generates redundancy in the coded packet. This redundancy allows the receiver to recover the tranitted traffic data n if some errs are encountered ding tranission. The interleaving reorders or shuffles the code bits in the packet so that code bits that are near each other are separated in time, frequency, and/or ding tranission. If a bst of errs occs ding tranission, then these errs are spread apart after the de-interleaving at the receiver, which impves decoding performance.

All three of these steps may be optimized by choosing a PC that is the highly cholestephilic and a good acyl donor for cholestel estefication. Given the reported differences in the cholestephilicity of vaous PC species, efflux would be best supported by acceptors containing l-steayl-2-oleoy- or l-palmitoyl-2-oleoy PC, both of which are highly cholestephilic. LCAT activity is highest for P in a fluid envinment and maximum reactivity is observed with acyl chain lens of 14 and 16 carbons for satated P, and 16 and 18 carbons for monounsatated species, which have the highest reactivity of the SN-I -monounsatated species. Although disatated P are good LCAT substrates, the short chained analogs (C14) are rapidly cleared via spontaneous traner and the long chained analogs form solid lipid domains that do not pvide an optimal envinment for LCAT activity. This leaves l-steayl-2-oleoy- or l-palmitoyl-2-oleoy PC, both of which are good LCAT substrates and highly cholestephilic.
