Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

耶穌被釘死在十字架上以後 ，基督徒們便祈禱著他能夠復活，並將原本的Easter Day定為
他復活的日子。看得出來，這個復活節在耶穌死之前就存在了。
The word Easter is of Saxon origin, Eastra, a goddess of spring of the east. Her symbol was the hare (a symbol of fertility).
(單詞Easter來自於薩克森語裡的Eastra，是一位來自東方的春日女神。她的象徵是野兔，這同時也是繁殖力的象徵。小編註：你可以理解為「春天萬物生」)
所以這個節日，原本慶祝的其實是非基督教的春日女神 「Easter(亞斯塔路)」的生日。
相傳，這位女神的同父異母哥哥「巴力」進入灌木叢中尋找到了一枚天鵝蛋，然後就抱在懷裡，結果蛋裡孵出了一隻兔子。兔子長大以後，就重生成了亞斯塔路女神。

復活節的由來介紹
Easter is the Christian commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus as a religious holiday. Over the past year the spring equinox, the first full moon of the first Sunday after Easter. 復活節有不少傳統的慶祝活動，蛋就是復活節最典型的象徵。古時人們常把蛋視為多子多孫和復活的象徵，因為它孕育著新的生命。後來基督教徒又賦予蛋以新的涵義，認為它是耶穌墓的象徵，未來的生命就是從其中掙脫而出世。復活節人們常把蛋染成紅色，代表耶穌受難時流的鮮血，同時也象徵復活後的快樂。還有一種古老的習俗，是把煮熟的彩蛋送給街頭的孩子們做遊戲。他們把彩蛋從山坡上滾下：誰的蛋最後破，誰就獲得勝利，全部彩蛋都歸他所有。美國白宮每年也玩這種遊戲，只不過是把蛋放在草坪上滾動而已。
