The Past Continuous is used to describe actions that began in the past and often continued for a short period of time after the action started. 過去進行時用來描述從過去開始的動作，通常在動作開始後持續一小段時間。

The Past Continuousis often used to denote an action that was interrupted by an event, or for two actions taking place in parallel. 過去進行時通常用來表示一個被事件中斷的動作，或者表示兩個動作同時發生。
Examples: 例子:
While I was washingthe dishes, I heard a loud noise. 當我洗碗的時候，我聽到一聲巨響。

Example: 例子:
