小Win前言：今天是感恩節，需要感恩的人很多。但向別人道謝是門藝術。thank, thankful, grateful, appreciate，中文意思都是感謝，但用法有什麼不同呢？小Win敎你說出誠意十足的感謝！
心懷感恩
用法為 thank someone for something。人可以省略，不過要注意，若 thank 後面要加「事情」，中間的for 不可省略喔！(O) Thank you, sir. 謝謝你，先生。(O) Thank you for your help. 謝謝你的幫忙。(X) Thank your help. 謝謝你的幫忙。(O) Thanks for your help. 謝謝你的幫忙。用法為 be thankful for something 或直接加 that 子句。I am thankful for what you have done for me.I’m thankful that I』ve got a job.常見用法有三種，第一種為 appreciate + 名詞。要注意的重點為這個名詞必須為事情，不能是人。簡單來說，人不能當 appreciate 的受詞喔！千萬別用錯啦！I appreciate the pay raise.The boss appreciates Duncan’s effort.第二種為後面接動名詞的用法，appreciate + V-ing。I appreciate having this opportunity to display my talent.I appreciate that you made the effort to come.要注意！當 appreciate 直接加 that 子句，且 appreciate 後面接 if 或 when 引導的子句時，要先加 it。I would appreciate it if you could let me know whether you will attend the meeting in advance.如果你能提前告知我你是否會出席這場會議，我將會十分感激。appreciate 除了當感謝、感激之外，還有其他意思喔！I really appreciate his complete focus on his work.There’s no point buying Paul expensive watches. He doesn’t appreciate them.我不懂你幹嘛花大錢買表送給 Paul，他根本不懂得欣賞這些表。The house will continue to appreciate.常見用法有三種，第一種為 be grateful (to someone) for something。I’m grateful to my manager for talking me up in front of the boss.第二種為後面接不定詞的用法，be grateful to V。I’m grateful to be promoted!I’m just grateful that I don’t work for Tony any more.
