梅雨季節要來啦！有一點憂愁，不能帶著小朋友室外玩耍了呢。那只能在家幹呆著嗎？雨天就該去博物館呀！學學玩玩一整天，絕對能把小朋友們的電放的光光的！

去博物館前當然少不了先讀個相關的博物館繪本啦！Maisy Goes to the Museum ，這本書裡出現過的東西，博物館裡基本都能找到！

不妨讓小朋友把Maisy和她的朋友們在博物館裡看到的東西的名字寫在小卡片上（還不識字的小朋友就用圖畫表示），裝訂在一起自製一本passport，逛博物館的時候找一找。每找到一個就標記一下，看看能不能全找齊？有趣還學知識，幾個小朋友一起去博物館玩的話還能比賽呢，看誰找到的多！

One rainy day Maisy went to the museum with her friends.

一個雨天，Maisy跟朋友們去博物館參觀。

Maisy在雨天全副武裝，可以順便考考小朋友：

雨天我們都需要些什麼來擋雨？

What do we need on rainy days to prevent the rain?

Umbrellas, rain boots, and raincoats.

雨天的天空中我們能看見什麼？太陽還是雲朵？

What can we see in the sky on rainy days? The sun or the clouds?

The clouds.

First everyone wanted to see the dinosaur. 

What enormous bones! 

And look at the fossilised dinosaur's egg!

首先每個人都想看恐龍。

好龐大的骨架！

快看恐龍的化石蛋！

Dinosaurs do not exist in this world any more, so we can only see dinasaurs in the museum.

In the transport section, Charley loved the vintage car...

and the penny farthing bicycle...

and the double-decker bus!

在交通工具展館，Charley喜歡古董車...還有大小輪自行車...和雙層巴士！

古董自行車和現在的自行車有什麼差別呢？

What's the difference between the penny farthing bicycle and the bicycle nowadays?

Today, bicycles have wheels of the same size.

What a wonderful old biplane!

And look here, a satellite, and a rocket!

好棒的古董雙翼飛機！

快看，一個衛星，還有一個火箭！

Maisy imagines being an astronaut and flying to the moon with Panda.

Maisy想像著自己是太空人，跟Panda一起飛上月亮。

Everyone enjoyed the old toys.

Tallulah's favourite was the grand doll's house with all it's tiny furniture.

每個人都喜歡老玩具。

Tallulah最喜歡有好多配套小家具的超大娃娃屋。

順便學習一下不同功能的房間的名字吧：

Can you show me where the bathroom, the bedroom, the sitting room and the stairs are?

In the natural history section, Maisy and Charley marvelled at the brightly coloured birds.

在自然歷史展館，Maisy和Charley驚嘆於豔麗色彩的鳥兒們。

圖中出現的鳥有：

鸚鵡 parrot

巨嘴鳥 toucan

蜂鳥 hummingbird

海鸚 puffin

海鷗 seagull

準備一點專業知識，去博物館的時候震懾小鬼頭們一把，哈哈。

Tallulah inspected the insects.

Cyril made friends with the sabre-toothed tiger.

Tallulah認真觀察了昆蟲們。

Cyril跟劍齒虎交上了朋友。

圖中的昆蟲有：

瓢蟲 ladybird／ladybug

蜘蛛 spider

蚱蜢 grasshopper

蝸牛 snail

毛毛蟲 caterpillar

蜈蚣 centipede

竹節蟲 stick insect

鼻涕蟲 slug

螞蟻 ant

那兩個綠色的甲蟲不知道是什麼？

博物館裡一定不會少的標本：

蝴蝶 butterfly

蛾子 moth

兩者的區別在於（絕大多數情況下）：

蛾類在化蛹前需要吐絲織繭，蝶類從不織繭
蛾類的觸角尖端一般沒有膨大部分，而且基部較粗，一般呈絲狀、羽狀，蝶類的觸角則比較細長，末端膨大呈棒槌狀
蝶類休息時多半將翅膀合攏，豎立在背上，蛾類則將翅膀向後扭，平放在身軀兩側
蛾絕是夜間活動的昆蟲，白天是屬於蝴蝶的
蝴蝶的身體較細，翅膀較寬大，而蛾的身體較粗，翅膀較狹窄
同時蝶類顏色比較鮮豔，蛾類比較暗淡

And Eddie looked and looked at the dear old wooly mammoth.
Eddie對著親愛的毛髮濃密的老猛獁象看了又看。
柚子在自然博物館看到猛獁象的復原標本之後大概印象太深刻，很長一段時間看到大象都叫mammoth😂
猛獁是大象的祖先，那我們的祖先是什麼？上圖很有趣，從猴子到原始人到現代人，不同階段的人類怎麼對付蚊子的，可見人類的進化最關鍵的是智慧的運用。
There's so much to see and do at the museum.
You can draw...
play with puppets...
make music...
博物館裡有太多可以看的東西和可以做的事了！
你可以畫畫...或者玩木偶...來點音樂...
and dress up in the costume room. 
Maisy dressed up as an Egyptian.
Cyril was a knight. Look at his shining armour.
或者在道具間換演出服。
Maisy穿的像個埃及人。
Cyril是一個騎士，看他閃亮的鎧甲！
最近幾年大火的運動服裝品牌名字裡就有armour鎧甲這個詞哦！
"Now it's time to visit the food section!" Charley said.
So they went to the museum cafe and had delicious cakes and refreshing drinks.
「現在該去用餐區啦！」 Charley說。
所以大家去了博物館的小餐廳，吃了好吃的蛋糕，喝了提神的飲料。
"There's always something new to see at the museum," Maisy said on the way home.
"And there's always something old to see," said Eddie.
「博物館裡總有新的東西可看，」 Maisy在回家的路上說。
「還有總有舊的東西可看，」 Eddie說。
