Course Introduction
In response to the global dramaticly associated sustainable development and strategic economic productivity technology & culture & society driven innovation paradigm transformation, the course is the main basic course of new engineering, new arts and new design of STEAM(Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) for undergraduate and interdisciplinary students. It is the most cutting-edge and important interdisciplinary compulsory course of computer science and design in the 21st century. This course mainly studies intelligent innovation methods, design rules and the ability to solve problems comprehensively, covering the important discipline foundation of three cultures(natural science culture, social science culture, humanities and art design culture) for future social survival and development from philosophy to technology, art and science.

Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Design is the main basic course of new engineering, new liberal arts and STEAM for undergraduate and interdisciplinary students in response to the strategic development direction. It is the necessary foundation for the follow-up courses of new engineering, new liberal arts and new design as well as the completion of course design and graduation design. This course mainly studies artificial intelligence and innovation design methods, design rules and meta design with artificial intelligence, and carries out comprehensive innovation and problem-solving theories and methods, laying a necessary foundation for cultivating students' intelligent design skills and imagination ability of cross innovation between art and science.
The course of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Design focuses on "meta design". The algorithm application of artificial intelligence (mainly CNN, RNN, GAN, CAN and other algorithms of visual computing) and the innovation of its design method are the basis of this course. The basic task of this course is to cultivate the ability of intelligent design thinking, meta design, intelligent product service design and visual computing thinking design. In the teaching of this course, we should not only keep the high-level of innovation design methods brought by cutting-edge technology, but also form the systematic influence and logical construction of innovation design brought by AI algorithm technology, and pay attention to the combination of artificial intelligence and innovation design; we should not only pay attention to the influence of various artificial intelligence algorithm technology on innovation design process, understand and master various artificial intelligence technology and its response. This course is divided into three parts:
Part one: what is artificial intelligence and innovation design? What innovation design can AI do?
The second part is how to master artificial intelligence to do innovation design? What are the algorithms of innovation design?
The third part is to understand why artificial intelligence needs innovation design? What is the methodology of the combination of artificial intelligence and innovation design?

The course is divided into four chapters and 44 lessons, which respectively describe the application of artificial intelligence and innovation design in various fields, the algorithm technology foundation of artificial intelligence, the rules of artificial intelligence innovation design, and the intelligent design method of artificial intelligence.
Chapter one, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Design Application, 19 lessons, tells the case analysis of artificial intelligence in the field of art, painting, cultural heritage, clothing, wearable equipment, autonomous vehicle, drone, robot, family service robot, industrial robot, smart city, smart space, intelligent security and rescue all fields of disaster, virtual reality, game AI, AI + + omni empowerment, the innovation application brought by AI, characteristics and laws, as well as the change of innovation design thinking and methods driven by technology. MOOC discussion area mainly discusses the application significance and development prospect of artificial intelligence under the general trend.
The second chapter, the Basis of Artificial Intelligence, 6 lessons, tells the origin of artificial intelligence, the school of philosophy and the basis of technical algorithm. Focusing on the algorithms closely related to the visual thinking, visual design and intelligent product design of autonomous vehicle in the innovation design, this chapter makes an introduction, including the artificial intelligence algorithm convolution neural network (CNN), generative adversarial network (GAN), creative adversarial network (CAN Networks), Partial Order Pruning DF, etc. MOOC discussion area and exercise part, keep focusing on the application scope of mainstream algorithm and its combination with innovation design.
The third chapter, AI Intelligent Design Rules, 9 lessons, tells the new design thinking and rules that AI brings to innovation design as a technical driving force. This part starts from the top ten technical problems faced by AI, tells the top ten problems faced by AI innovation design under the condition that technology changes production tools and productivity as well as production relations, and then extends the concerns of AI design ethics. From the design basis level, combined with the General Purpose Technology (GPT) of AI key purpose technology to analyze the hard core design basis of killer intelligent design. At the same time, in the philosophy level of intelligent innovation design, it focuses on the essence and significance of artificial intelligence aesthetic consciousness. In the aspect of algorithmic technology, return to the essential object of innovation design, from the aspect of increasing dimension and reducing dimension of 11 information dimensions for innovation, describe the design computing rules of artificial intelligence innovation design. Scoring standard of this course:
The course is scored on the 100 point system, and the course performance evaluation mainly includes three parts, video learning, unit assignment and topic discussion. The score formula is 80% of the unit assignment after video learning and 20% of the discussion area.
Students with a total score of 60-79 are eligible, 80-100 are excellent, and students with a score of 60 or above can apply for a certificate, which requires payment.
