今天，聚焦B-Boy，跟著83BANDS，在這個Hip-Hop盛行的新世代中，重新審視自己與街舞文化的連接：因為我們相信，只有更深入地了解這個它，才能捕捉到表面之下更美妙的魅力！
Today, focus on B-Boy and follow 83BANDS as we revisit our connection to B-Boying in this new generation where everyone is passionate about Hip-Hop: because we believe that only by getting to know the culture better can we capture the more wonderful charms beneath the surface!
B-Boy是Hip-Hop的起源。它指的是「Break Boy」（劃重點：並不是現在混淆了概念之後的Breaking舞種的舞者），而這個名字的來源是那些在間奏時間跳舞的男孩：他們總是等到音樂break出現時啟動，一連串令人眼花繚亂的，猶如雜技般的腳步動作後，在break結束時突然定格。而現在所說的Hip-Hop Dance也只是B-Boy中的一個舞種。
B-Boy refers to 'Break Boy' (highlight: not Breaking dancers as the concept is now confused), and the name comes from the boys who danced in the interval: they always waited until the break came and started a dazzling, acrobatic sequence of footwork before suddenly freezing at the end of the break.
B-Boy繼承了紐約黑人舞蹈一貫的搖擺(rock)傳統，以身體上下左右起伏擺動為特色(Up &Down)，但律動更為舒緩、輕盈。也因此，舞者可以加入任何成分，只要切合音樂就好。
B-Boy carries on the tradition of black New York dance of rock, featuring the up & down movement of the body, but with a softer, lighter rhythm. As a result, the dancers can add whatever ingredients they want, as long as they fit the music.
動作更加複雜的House舞⬆️
所以後來紐約又在這個基礎上出現了House舞(結合了踢踏舞(Swing)、沙司舞(Salsa)和坎波舞(Capoeira)，使用House音樂的舞蹈)
As a result, later on in New York, house dance emerged from this (a combination of tap (Swing), salsa and capoeira, using house music)
動作幅度更大的Jazz舞⬆️
新潮爵士(New Jazz，芭蕾和嘻哈舞相結合的舞蹈)、比波普(Be-Bop，豪斯舞和新潮爵士相結合的舞蹈)，還有Waacking、Raggae……它們都成為新派嘻哈的一部分。
New Wave Jazz (New Jazz, a dance combining ballet and hip-hop), Be-Bop (a dance combining Haus and New Wave Jazz), and Waacking, Raggae. they all became part of the new school of hip-hop.

隨著B-Boy的發展，至今伴隨著它出生的三個舞種（Breaking、Popping和Locking）已被劃分進old school流派。
As B-Boy has evolved, the three dance genres that accompanied its birth (Breaking, Popping and Locking) have been classified into the old school genre.
Breaking是來自東海岸是一種帶有運動風格的舞種，黑人青少年在黑人歌手詹姆斯.布朗(James Brown)的影響下，發展出一種以搖擺步(Top-Rock) 、 地板步(Footwork) 、 凍姿(Freeze) 三種形式組成的舞蹈。舞者需要非常強悍的體能和力量，因為舞者需要做大量非常有難度且有危險的動作。
Breaking is an athletic style of dance from the East Coast and was developed by black teenagers in the Bronx under the influence of black singer James Brown, and consists of three forms: Top-Rock, Footwork and Freeze. The dancers need to be physically strong and powerful, as they are required to perform a large number of very difficult and dangerous moves.
Locking和Popping則來自於西海岸：瘋克音樂(Funk)在加州出現，催生出兩種新的舞蹈。
Locking and popping, on the other hand, came from the West Coast: the emergence of funk in California gave rise to two new dances.
鎖舞(Locking) ，七十年代初由 洛杉磯 黑人青年唐.康佩爾(Don Compell)發明。這種舞蹈以手腕和手臂的快速翻轉移動並在突然間停頓為特色，停頓的一剎那身體就像被鎖住一樣，舞蹈因之得名。
It was invented by Don Compell. The dance is characterised by rapid flipping of the wrists and arms and a sudden pause in which the body appears to be locked in place.
機械舞（Popping）則是由少年薩姆.所羅門(Sam Solomon)創造的，他借鑑早期奧克蘭的機器人舞(Robot)創造了Popping。這種舞蹈以身體各部位肌肉持續的收縮與放鬆(pop)為特色，視覺上產生震動的效果。
Popping was created by a teenager, Sam Solomon, who borrowed it from the early Auckland robot dance. The dance is characterised by a continuous contraction and relaxation of the muscles in each part of the body (pop), creating a visual vibration effect.
最早這三個舞種獨立發展，後來相互融合，而Old School這一稱呼就是街舞發展之後人們對於這些舞蹈形態的定義。
In the early days these three dance styles developed independently and later fused with each other, and the name Old School is the subsequent definition of these.
隨著街舞和選秀節目帶來的街舞熱潮，越來越多的街舞比賽開始舉辦，但要近距離觀賞街舞比賽卻不是那麼容易的事情。
With the B-Boy craze brought about by street dance and talent shows, more and more dancing competitions are being held, but it is not so easy to watch them up close.
而且，來自街頭的Hip-Hop比賽就要在街頭才夠味！
And, hip-hop competitions from the streets need to be on the streets to be tasty!
於是，83BANDS決定要將街頭進行到底，將街舞文化直連Donghood！本周四，83精心策劃的DANCE BATTLE 活動即將啟程，外行也可以靜距離沉浸在音樂和舞蹈共構的充滿荷爾蒙的現場！若是躍躍欲試的內行，來，不要躲藏，也可以上臺一展身手！
So, 83BANDS decided to take the streets to the next level! This Thursday, the 83BANDS DANCE BATTLE will take place, where amateurs can immerse themselves in a hormone-filled scene of music and dance at a distance! If you're an insider, come on, don't hide, get on stage and show off your skills too!
