本周，流媒體巨頭亞馬遜宣布，已經從華納公司手中購得託爾金小說《指環王》系列的電視改編權，並且籤下了將出品多季的承諾!
為了談下《指環王》版權，亞馬遜執行長Jeff Bezos罕見的親自參與談判，最終敲定的交易金額達到2.5億美元。
劇集版《指環王》將會重點講述「魔戒再現」之前的故事，但具體消息還未公布，未來有可能繼續開發衍生劇。
貝佐斯(Bezos)周一下午發布了關於《指環王》的Twitter，寫道：

亞馬遜Prime進軍中土世界。
《指環王》三部曲歷來被認為是最偉大的奇幻電影系列，首部「魔戒再現」全球累計票房8.71億元，第二部「雙塔奇兵」9.26億元，第三部「王者歸來」11.19億元，是歷史上最成功的系列電影之一。
可以說單從選角角度來講，亞馬遜版《指環王》面前的都是一座很難逾越的經典，也再次讓人感慨彼得·傑克遜和他的選角團隊眼光何等毒辣。
一旦成功，亞馬遜版《指環王》有可能成為超越《權力的遊戲》的偉大作品，一旦失敗，也必然會成為被人一次次提起的史詩級災難。
