When you drive from downtown Zhengzhou to Xingyang along the provincial highway 312, you will see pomegranate stalls lining both sides of Xingliu Avenue. Xingyang has been introducing preferential policies in recent years. As a result, a 30-kilometer Heyin pomegranate industrial belt has been formed in the north of Xingyang, spanning 5 townships from Guangwu Town in the east to Gaoshan Town in the west. Xingyang, Zhengzhou has become one of the eight pomegranate producing areas in China.

Heyin pomegranates, formerly known as An pomegranates (also called Tulin pomegranates), have a history of more than 2,100 years. Heyin pomegranates date back to the Han Dynasty and became a household name as a tribute to the emperor during the Tang Dynasty.
河陰石榴原名安石榴（也叫塗林石榴），距今已有2100多年的歷史。栽培始於漢，因盛唐時被封為皇上貢品而家喻戶曉。

In 2015, the first China Pomegranate Expo was launched in the Heyin Pomegranate Production Area. CCTV made a micro film about Heyin pomegranates.

There is a saying that goes, "the Heyin pomegranate is the best in the country, the tribute is now accessible to every household." It was in that year that the villages within the Xingyang Pomegranate Industrial Belt were lifted out of poverty. Heyin pomegranates, it seems, may bode well for prosperity.

Xingyang hosts a Pomegranate Festival each September. At the same time, it also holds a trade fair of featured agricultural products, a painting and calligraphy exhibition of "Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival", etc. Liugou Village, the core area of the Heyin pomegranate industry, has become known as a model village in the list of beautiful villages in and around Zhengzhou.
每年9月，滎陽都會舉辦石榴文化節，同時還有特色農產品展銷會、「中國農民豐收節」書畫展等活動。河陰石榴產業核心區劉溝村更是成了鄭州市美麗鄉村示範村。
