我們先學習 stand 的用法：
stands（三單）- standing（現在分詞）- stood（過去式）- stood（過去分詞）
stand 在初中階段主要有三種意思：
1、stand 譯為 「站立，起立，站起來」
stand + 介詞短語
stand up 站起來，起來
stand beside the window 站在窗戶邊
stand by the tree 站在樹邊
stand still 站著不動

2、stand 譯為 「位於，立於」
此為其延伸含義，通常出現在閱讀理解之中；
A big tree stood beside my house.
有棵大樹位於我的房子旁邊；
The tall building stands in front of the library.
這座高樓位於圖書館前面。
3、stand 譯為 「忍受」
can't stand sth./doing 受不了...
（初二上重點短語）
I can't stand soap operas.
我受不了肥皂劇。
I can't stand waiting for a long time.
我受不了等太久。
stand 用法總結：

再來看 sit 的用法：
sits（三單）- sitting（現在分詞）- sat（過去式）- sat（過去分詞）
sit 在初中階段只需要掌握其兩種意思：
1、sit 譯為 「坐，坐下」
用法與stand基本一致，sit + 介詞短語
sit down 坐下
sit by the window 坐在窗戶邊
