強調句通常用的句式：it is + 被強調的部分 + that + 句子的其餘成分。強調部分指人的時候，用who 或者that; 指物的時候用that。
例1：
It is from the sun that we get light and heat.
被強調的部分（物）
例2：
It was Sam who knocked down that old man and fled.
被強調的部分（人）
注意：如何判斷強調句式？
把一個句子中的it is …that/who這個部分去掉，如果剩餘的句子仍然是完整的，那麼這個句式就是一個強調句。反之則有可能是其他從句。
例如：
It is exciting that we succeeded in launching the satellite.
這個句子雖然也有it is ….that 的結構，但只要把這個結構去掉，就可以發現：剩下的內容不能構成完整的句子。所以這不是一個強調句。在這裡It is…that 是不能隨便去掉的，因為這裡it 是形式主語。
翻譯示例：
例：______________ （直到他詳細研究）that the first of the vitamins was identified.
