主見就是自己的想法，順理成章可以想到跟「觀點」相關的詞。
mind有很多層意思，想法，心態，思緒，意志，說「智力」的時候也可以用這個詞。
要表達一個人有主見，可以和"own"搭配起來：
❶ sb know sb's own mind.
❷ have a mind of one's own.
She knows her own mind.
她這個人很有主見。 （她知道自己心裡的想法）
You should have a mind of your own.
你要有自己的主見。
There is no point in telling her what to do. She has a mind of her own.
告訴她該怎麼做完全沒意義，她有自己的想法。
❖There is no point in doing sth 做某事沒意義
（There is no point in losing weight. 減肥沒啥意義）
本身跟「觀點」沒什麼關係，但「on one's own terms」表示「按自己的條件，按自己想的來」。
I feel he is a great architect on his own terms.
我覺得他是個有主見的了不起的建築師。

You are the boss now. You have to be strong-minded.
現在是你說了算，你必須要有主見。
He's his own man, but he doesn't ignore advice.
他很有主見，但他從不忽視別人的建議。（可以理解為「做自己的主人」）
名詞「self-starter」，專指「做事主動的人；有主見的人」。
這個很好理解，「從自己開始」，不聽從別人的指示。
其實「有主見」這個概念在英語裡還挺稀罕的，大部分時候說某個人「沒主見」多一點。
因為歐美國家大多數人都習慣自己做決定，他們概念裡沒有特別強調有主見，反而沒主見才是會被拿出來說的。
總有那麼一些人不太重視自己的想法，喜歡隨大流，有時候就像羊群一樣，牧羊人的鞭子指向哪裡，它們就往哪裡走。所以英文裡會出現「sheeple」這個詞來形容這樣的人。
Sheeple is a portmanteau created by combining the words "sheep" and "people」, originating in the United States. It refers to people who are meek, easily persuaded, and tend to follow the crowd.
Sheeple是由sheep和people兩個詞組合而成的，最初源於美國，指那些順從、容易被勸服又喜歡跟隨大眾的人。
