What makes good translation of lyric? The key lies in rhyme and rhythm. Rhyme, put it simply, is repetition of similar sounds in the final stressed syllables of two or more words, it relates to the lyric itself. And rhythm means the translation of lyric should comply with the tune of the song. There are three major steps of translation of lyric, strongly recommend you to try by yourself!
好的歌詞翻譯呼應著歌曲的一呼一吸, 韻和節奏尤為重要。接下來傳傳分享三個歌詞漢譯英的步驟供大家參考哦~
以林俊傑的《她說》的經典歌詞為例，我們一起來看看怎麼翻譯「等不到天黑，煙火不會太完美，回憶燒成灰，還是等不到結尾」。
Step1: Be familiar with the lyric and song you are going to translate.
步驟一：熟悉中文歌詞與歌曲旋律，對翻譯的原文和曲調有所了解。
Step2: Analyze the rhyme and find proper words with relevant rhyme and meaning. You can take the versions online for reference.
步驟二：
分析歌詞，找出歌詞中的韻腳和意象。黑，美，尾這幾個字都押了ei韻，英文也有相似的押eɪ 韻的詞如day [deɪ]，play[pleɪ]，sway[sweɪ]，如果不能完全找到eɪ韻的英文詞，那麼以mate [meɪt] 等結尾的詞，雖多了一個輔音t，也可做押韻用。有時也可換韻，儘量按照原詞的韻來考量譯文。當然了，我們可以參考網絡上許多的版本，如

但我們找到的翻譯大多是只將歌詞的意思傳達出來，在韻和節奏方面都有所欠缺，我們可以儘量努力使翻譯更靠近原詞原曲。
Step3: Organize the word, sing it and see if somewhere should be corrected.
