他的這句have nothing to lose
有什麼特別的意思嗎？

have nothing to lose是什麼意思？
劍橋詞典裡是這樣解釋的：
to be in a situation that could improve by doing something and that will not be any worse if you fail at it
即：你目前的狀況，可以通過做某事來改善，即使你失敗了也不會變得更糟
也就是說
現在已經是最糟糕的狀態了
只要嘗試，不會比現在差，只會變好
所以
have nothing to lose
我沒什麼失去的了，我沒啥損失
隱含的意思就是：
我無所畏懼，可以全力以赴向前衝
帶著一種破釜沉舟的勇氣與決心
例：
I have nothing to lose. I'm not afraid of failure.
我再無可失。我不害怕失敗。
Why don't you join the basketball team? You have nothing to lose.
你為什麼不加入籃球隊？你沒啥損失。
如果把nothing換成something
have something to lose
意思是：有東西可以失去；心裡有事（有人）
例：
It's good to be scared, which means you still have something to lose.
感到害怕是好事，代表你心有牽掛。
《王牌特工》中有一句經典臺詞：
