陳湘金，湖南新寧人，畢業於湖南輕工業高等專科學校（現長沙理工大學），李魁正導師入室弟子。現為中國美術家協會會員，中國工筆畫學會第二屆、第三屆理事，湖南省美術家協會新文藝群體聯絡委員會主任，湖南省美術家協會洪江古商城寫生創作基地負責人，懷化市中國畫學會會長，懷化市美術家協會副主席，懷化市國畫院副院長。
