李玉雙同名個展
Li Yushuang Solo Exhibition
「李玉雙同名個展」,呈現藝術家李玉雙先生最新作品以及早期代表作。本次展覽由方志凌策劃,全面梳理李玉雙先生從藝迄今六十餘年的藝術探索成果,展出涵蓋油畫、水彩、水墨、素描、手稿等形式在內數十餘件作品。
作為八十五歲高齡的老一輩藝術家,李玉雙先生是美術界鮮有的堅持以自然為題材、堅持在自然中創作的藝術家。他將寫生視為生活的一部分,理工科的知識結構背景促使他在寫生時融入自然科學的視角,從而形成一套獨特的觀察方法和繪畫體系,李玉雙稱之為「光編碼」畫法。他以超脫於世俗之外的目光看世間千山萬水,下筆色彩斑斕間,時間從他的畫面掠過,而不留任何痕跡。他筆下的風景有著中國水墨的自然韻味,既有光影變幻的色彩,也有靈動灑脫的筆觸,天真爛漫,自成一派。
"Li Yushuang Solo Exhibition" presents the latest works and early masterpieces of artist Li Yushuang. Curated by Fang Zhiling, this exhibition comprehensively combs the results of Li Yushuang's artistic exploration for more than 60 years, thus for this time it will display more than 30 works including oil painting, ink painting, sketch, manuscript and other forms.
As an 85-year-old artist of the older generation, Li Yushuang is one of the few artists in the art world who regards sketching outdoors as a part of life and insists on taking nature as the subject. The background of science and engineering knowledge has prompted him to integrate perspectives of natural science while sketching, thereby forming a unique set of observation methods and painting systems, which is as Li Yushuang called "light coding method". With a sight of detached secularity, he observes at the mountains and rivers of the world. His landscape showcases a natural charm of Chinese ink painting, which seems innocent while self-contained, with both changing colors of light and shadow as well as flexible and dynamic brushstrokes.

Winning Cards - Artworks by Chen Shuxia
「好牌」——陳淑霞作品展展現了陳淑霞不同時期的創作狀態,以此勾勒出藝術家的心歷路徑。從九十年代的「原色」出發,到「虛實兩境」、再到「山水間」,及至近期的「此在」、「邊際」幾個重要的創作階段,陳淑霞通過不斷變換視覺表達方式,進而建構起獨特的個體敘事,在審視社會的同時也在審視自我。此次展覽是繼2019年藝術長沙美侖美術館「邊·際」陳淑霞作品展之後的又一次重要個展,展覽共計展出五十二件作品,其中包括「好牌」系列在內的十一件最新創作,由遠及近地呈現出陳淑霞藝術創作中的系統脈絡。
Asia Art Center is honored to announce that the new exhibition entitled "Winning Cards – Artworks of Chen Shuxia" will be held from August 15 to October 11, 2020, with an opening reception at 3:00 pm on August 22. As a retrospective presentation of artist Chen Shuxia's artistic creation in recent years, it systematically displays her different creative states in different periods, outlining her spiritual journey by moment. Starting from "primary colors" in the 1990s, to "virtual and real", to "within a landscape", and to the recent representative stages of "being-there" and"the edge", Chen Shuxia constantly changed methods of visual expression. Her subject matter constructs a unique individual narrative, which examines the self while examining the society through identity. After the past exhibition entitled "The Edge" held in Meilun Art Museum, Changsha in 2019, this approaching solo exhibition incisively and vividly presents in a systematic context with 52 works, including 11 latest art creations from "Winning Cards" series.2020.10.17 - 11.15
原口典之紀念回顧展
A Retrospective Exhibition of HARAGUCHI Noriyuki
2020年9月,日本「物派」(Mono-ha)代表藝術家原口典之(HARAGUCHI Noriyuki)悵然離世。亞洲藝術中心(臺北二館)於2019年5月舉辦了原口典之在臺灣的首次個展「物,及其動勢」。亞洲藝術中心(上海)於2020年5月舉辦了「物派」代表藝術家原口典之和小清水漸(KOSHIMIZU Susumu)雙個展「復奏」。今日,亞洲藝術中心(北京)特別策劃展出原口典之紀念回顧展,以此紀念他探究「物」於歷史洪流中不斷演變的思考,以及人類應如何透過「物」反觀自身與時下世界的關聯。以終為始,回看原口典之藝術創作中對身體、歷史、生命、社會、時間等多維度的思與行。
In September 2020, one of the "Mono-ha" representative artists HARAGUCHI Noriyuki departed from us. Last year, we organized HARAGUCHI Noriyuki’s debut solo exhibition "Substance and Motion: HARAGUCHI Noriyuki Taiwan Premiere Exhibition" in Taipei at Asia Art Center (Taipei II). And in May 2020 Asia Art Center (Shanghai) exhibited "Polychord - KOSHIMIZU Susumu & HARAGUCHI Noriyuki". In this time, Asia Art Center (Beijing) especially presents "Retrospective exhibition of HARAGUCHI Noriyuki" in order to commemorate his exploration regards the ever-changing interpretations of matter throughout civilized history, and how we as humans can truthfully engage with the current world through matter. Beginning with the end in mind, we can look back on the multi-perspective thinking and behavior of HARAGUCHI Noriyuki’s artistic ideas on body, history, life, society, and time.

Boundless Sky - New Ink Paintings of Wang Jieyin
作為40年代出生於上海的老一輩藝術家,王劼音的藝術創作始終根植於中國傳統藝術的脈絡。他遊刃於版畫、油畫、水墨等多種繪畫形式語言之間,同時又以樸素的精神、書寫性的繪畫實驗、為中國水墨繪畫注入了更新的力量,並將古老的視覺經驗重新塑造於新的審美意象之內。本次展覽由夏可君擔任策展人,展出王劼音作品共三十餘件,均為藝術家依據亞洲藝術中心空間所特別創作的全新的水墨作品。「天空之後——王劼音水墨新作展」,是繼2014年今日美術館「雲起——王劼音作品展」、2016年龍美術館「風間雲度——王劼音個展」之後藝術家的再一次大規模作品呈現,同時也是其在北京首次水墨創作的大型個展。As a senior artist born in Shanghai in the 1940s, Wang Jieyin's artistic creation has always been rooted in the context of traditional Chinese art. He is a comprehensive master of printmaking, oil painting, ink painting and other forms and languages. With continuing enthusiasm and persistence in art, he keeps injecting updated energy into Chinese ink painting, reshaping ancient visual languages to correspond to the contemporary aesthetic taste. Curated by Xia Kejun, this exhibition displays more than thirty ink paintings by Wang Jieyin. This is the third large-scale solo exhibition since 「Beyond Clouds Solo Exhibition」 held by Long Museum in 2016 and 「Rising Clouds」 held by Today Art Museum in 2014.

Affective-Imagoism: Artworks by Sang Huoyao
「境象主義——桑火堯作品展」是繼2019年上海龍美術館「境象主義——桑火堯作品展」、2018年新加坡當代美術館「桑火堯——境象主義作品展」、2017年中國美術館「混沌——桑火堯境象主義作品展」之後,藝術家對「境象主義」概念的又一次深化的認知表達。本次展出的作品共計五十餘件,為藝術家近年來的全新創作,且首次集中展出。除了架上繪畫亦有裝置創作,更豐富地呈現了藝術家新的創作與思考,並進一步構建了境象主義美學的神秘、崇高、純粹與深邃。
After "Affective-Imagoism - Sang Huoyao’s Works Exhibition" (Long Museum, Shanghai, China, 2019), "Sang Huoyao Solo Exhibition - Horizons of the Mind" (Museum of Contemporary Arts, Singapore, 2018), "Chaos - Exhibition of Sang Huoyao’s works" (National Art Museum of China, Beijing, China, 2017), the new exhibition features his deepened cognitive expression regarding the concept of "Affective-Imagoism", with more than 50 new artworks in recent years. Polychord - KOSHIMIZU Susumu & HARAGUCHI Noriyuki
隨著包裹《牆與鋼索》的潔淨細棉布被徐緩揭開,一部沉澱於精準結構框架內,由能量與數值模式的美感同時發聲並彼此融洽的復調律開始奏起。「復奏」是小清水漸(KOSHIMIZU Susumu)與原口典之(HARAGUCHI Noriyuki)兩位物派(Mona-ha)重要人物各自代表性作品在空間劃分中互相映照生成的動勢軌跡。二人的作品以不同屬性的自然物和工業化材料元素彼此間的關係以及與所處空間的關係為結構核心,通過分解重組產生的變化組合充滿平衡與對位的協同律動性。經由簡潔的重複和累積展開延伸與變動,從而推動質的強化。其創作所蘊含的異同與分合、協調和反差亦是自然世界和社會關係之「復奏」的視覺化呈現。Unveiling slowly, Wall and Wire Rope wrapped by clean muslin showing up, a sound of polyphony settled in the precise structure is unfolding tunefully and simultaneously with an aesthetic mode of energy and logic.2020.9.5 - 11.28
Timeless Vision - Yang Chihung Solo Exhibition
「心象.詩境——楊識宏個展」,展覽將持續至2020年11月28日。此次展覽是繼2015年東京上野之森美術館「永恆的當下——楊識宏近作展」及2019年廣東美術館「磅礴——楊識宏作品展」的再一次集中展出。出生於1947年的藝術家楊識宏,於1968年畢業於臺灣藝專(現為臺灣藝術大學)美術科西畫組,70年代末移居美國紐約。楊識宏自1980年代起活躍於紐約藝壇,至今創作不懈,成為繼趙無極、朱德群之後最重要的海外華人抽象藝術家之一。1989年獲得美國紐約州州長頒發傑出亞裔藝術家獎,更是首位獲得美國「國家工作室」獎助計劃的華人藝術家。1981年開始撰寫藝術報導和評論文章,闡述西方藝術的發展情況,並發表於紐約《中報》、臺灣《藝術家》雜誌以及在兩岸極具影響力的藝術雜誌《雄獅美術》,對於當時國內藝術信息相對缺乏的環境下,可以說帶來了許多深度的介紹及啟發。給當時的中國藝術界打開了一扇了解西方最新藝術信息大門,為許多藝術家提供了當代藝術啟蒙,也是首位進入紐約MoMA P.S.1展出的華人藝術家。After the past exhibition entitled 「Eternal Present-Recent Paintings by Yang Chihung」 held in Ueno Royal Museum, Tokyo in 2015 and 「Majestic Momentum – Yang Chihung」 held in Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou in 2019. Artist Yang Chihung (b.1947) graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the National Taiwan College of Arts (currently known as National Taiwan University of Arts), and immigrated to New York in the late 70’s. Yang Chihung has been active in the New York art scene since the 1980’s, and continues to create work to this day, becoming one of the most significant abstract expressionist painters since Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun. He was awarded the "Asian-American Artist" award from the Governor of New York in 1989, and was the first artist of Chinese descent to be awarded the Clocktower residency. He began writing reports and critiques on art, chronicling the developments of Western art; his writings were published in 「Chung Po」 in New York, 「Artist Magazine」 in Taiwan, and in the art magazine 「Lion Art」 which grew prominent on both sides of the strait, providing in-depth introduction and inspirations to a nation that was lacking in its sources of art information. For the Chinese art world then, it truly opened a door to the latest Western art news and information, imparting contemporary art knowledge to many artists.

Chuang Che Anniversary Solo Exhibition:
As Lofty as a Mountain 1960-2019
展名「如山之想60年」來自作品《如山之想》。《如山之想》是莊喆1960年的創作,除可視為抽象山系列「山想」的起點,更可視作他抽象創作的開端;本次展覽共計展出十四件作品,「山想」系列的其中七件由莊喆親自為本展挑選,從上世紀六十年代至今,橫跨一甲子,在每個十年間都精選一張代表性的畫作:《初始》1962、《影》1979、《珠露滿山》1987、《春之道》1991、《深》2001及《醒》2019,除了與《如山之想》產生呼應與連結外,更試圖牽引觀者從「山」的思維去探究莊喆抽象畫背後所蘊含的語境與意識。Chuang Che's Anniversary Solo Exhibition: As Lofty as a Mountain 1960-2019 is based on a work created by the artist in 1960 titled As Lofty as a Mountain. In addition to this piece representing the beginning of Chuang's abstract mountain series 'Mountain Imaginings', it also marks the start of his embrace of abstract art. This exhibition shows 14 paintings, seven of which come from the artist's 'Mountain Imaginings' series and six pieces from the series are selected by Chuang himself. Moreover, each painting represents one of the six decades in which he has been painting: The Beginning(1962), The Shadow (1979), Dewy Mountain (1987), Spring Way (1991), Deep (2001), and Awakening (2019). In addition to these paintings echoing and being connected to As Lofty as a Mountain, an effort has also been made to guide viewers from reflections about 'mountains' to a more in-depth exploration of the context and meaning that informs the abstract paintings of Chuang Che.

亞洲藝術中心在其臺北空間舉辦「大隅無界:藝域的無限擴展與延伸 - 朱為白、李再鈐雙人展」。作為「東方畫會」代表性藝術家朱為白(1929 - 2018),與幾何雕塑藝術家李再鈐(1928 -)有著數十年的深厚友誼。本展共計呈現三十餘件作品,在兩人創作流變的對話中尋求彼此的東方抽象之內蘊。

亞洲藝術中心藝術家杭春暉正於廣東美術館舉辦個展「本之末——杭春暉的藝術實踐」,此次展覽由吳洪亮策劃,王紹強擔任藝術總監,梳理藝術家杭春暉近15年來的創作,涵蓋多種語言形式在內的五十餘件藝術作品。杭春暉作為21世紀中國新一代藝術家群體裡的一個非典型人物,其創作的發展軌跡頗有意味。他常被劃入某些圈子,又仿佛身在其外,這正是其藝術的特殊性。水墨、雕塑、設計、美術學作為他創作的底色,使其成為一個思維縝密而又大膽踐行的藝術家。從他早期工筆作品到最近的材料實驗與社會學探求,彼此看似隔閡,其實卻有著一條脈絡清晰的內在線索。作品跨越杭春暉近15年的創作,甚至還有藝術家根據場地以及廣東的在地感受,專為本次展覽創作的作品。
