四、五年級正在學習的繪本是The Missing Pearl(《遺失的珍珠》), 在戲劇化演繹的過程中,我們選取的視頻是相似主題的The little mermaid (《小美人魚》)。首先,學生在老師的帶領下對原繪本內容進行了回顧。其次,學生通過觀看視頻,欣賞了新的故事情節,理解了新的故事內容。再次,教師引導學生,對比新舊故事中時間、地點、人物、情節四要素的相同和不同點,並多角度地分析了兩個「美人魚」角色的性格特點。由此,課程培養了學生的鑑賞能力,幫助學生樹立了積極的人生觀、價值觀。
六、七年級正在學習的繪本是Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves(《阿里巴巴和四十大盜》), 在與戲劇的巧妙結合中,我們選取的視頻是對原繪本高度還原、結尾略有縮減的版本Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (《阿里巴巴和四十大盜》)。首先,同學們通過觀看視頻,對故事情節有了更加形象的感性認識,同時也體味到了影片中的異域風情和人物的豐富性格。其次,我們立足於文學作品和影視作品的區別,為學生滲透了「文學作品的戲劇改編」的概念。師生共同探討了文學版本和影視版本《阿里巴巴和四十大盜》作品的不同點,包括:人物形象的塑造的不同,故事情節的鋪陳的不同,故事主題立意定位的不同,等等。我們希望通過這樣的課堂設計,能為學生今後賞析兩種不同類型的作品,以及親身演繹小劇,打下初步的理論基礎,同時,為學生綜合人文素養的提升奠定基石。
為期三周的「英文閱讀劇場版」課程體驗,

還希望通過戲劇展示,
使英文閱讀課在原有的基礎上更加豐富生動,
富於教育意義。
同時,我們亦希望在戲劇展示中賦予每個孩子機會
——點燃思維的火花,
釋放心中的激情,
站在舞臺的中央,
成為自己人生的「主角」!
Let Drama Performance Light up English Reading
----the Combination of English Reading and Drama Performance
Recently, the Drama Room of our school library was officially built up. As a "new member" of our library, the creation of the Drama Room will open a door for the students to get in touch with knowledge about drama, build a platform for students to participate in drama performance, and create the possibility for the combination of paper reading and drama performance.
Therefore, it could be said that the drama performance has lit the lamp and ignited the fire for the teaching of English reading and injected new vitality to it.
The drama play rehearsed by the Grade 1 students was adapted from the story they learned in the book Good English. After two weeks of practice and performance, the students have initially felt the wonderful combination of drama and English language, and have gained happiness and confidence on the stage.
Students of Grade 2 and Grade 3 worked on the drama play called The King Has Big Ears. It was derived from King Donkey Ears, which is a story they have been learning. The students stepped on the stage and gave a vivid interpretation of the characters in the play. The 「little actors」 brought the characters to life through their oral language, actions, facial expressions and so on.
Students of Grade 4 and Grade 5 are learning the story called The Missing Pearl. During The dramatic interpretation, we chose a video with a similar theme: The Little Mermaid. Our class cultivates the students' ability of appreciation and helps them set up a positive attitude on life and values.
Students of Grade 6 and Grade 7 are learning the story called Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. In a the combination with drama, the video we selected was a highly remolded version of the original picture book. In the class, based on the difference between literary works and film & television works, we infiltrated the concept of "dramatic adaptation of literary works" for students. Through this kind of class design, we hope to lay comprehensive humanistic qualities for our students.
