One day down on the farm, Duck got a wild idea, "I bet I could ride a bike!" he thought.
有一天，在農場裡，鴨子冒出一個瘋狂的主意，「我打賭我會騎車。」
He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on, and began to ride.
他一搖一擺地走到男孩停著的自行車旁，爬上去，騎了起來。
At first he rode very slowly, and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!
開始他騎得很慢，而且左搖右晃，但是很好玩！
Duck rode past Cow and waved to her.
鴨子騎過母牛身旁，衝母牛招了招手。
"Hello, Cow!" said Duck.
「你好，母牛！」鴨子說。
"M-o-o-o," said Cow.
「哞——」母牛應了一聲。
But what she thought was,"A duck on a bike? That s the silliest thing I ve ever seen!"
可她心裡想：「一隻鴨子在騎車？這可是我見過最愚蠢的事！」
Then Duck rode past Sheep."Hello, Sheep!" said Duck."B-a-a-a," said Sheep.
鴨子騎過綿羊身邊，「你好，綿羊！」鴨子說。
But what she thought was,"He s going to hurt himself if he s not careful!"
「咩——」綿羊應了一聲。可她心裡想：「要是不小心，他會受傷的！」
Duck was riding better now.
現在鴨子騎得好多了。
He rode past Dog.
他騎過狗的身邊。
"Hello, Dog!" said Duck.
「你好，狗！」鴨子說。
"Woof!"said Dog.
「汪！」狗應了一聲。
But what he thought was,"That is a mighty neat trick!"
可他心裡想：「這可是真功夫呀！」
Then Duck rode past Cat.
鴨子騎過貓身邊
"Hello, Cat!" said Duck.
「你好，貓！」鴨子說。
"Meow," said Cat.
「喵——」貓應了一聲。
But what she thought was,"I wouldn t waste my time riding a bike!"
可她心裡想：「我才不會浪費時間去騎車呢！」
Duck pedaled a little faster.
鴨子蹬得快了一點。
He rode past Horse.
他騎過馬身邊。
"Hello, Horse!" said Duck.
「你好，馬！」鴨子說。
"Ne-e-e-igh!" said Horse.
「嘶——」馬應了一聲。
But what he thought was ,"You re still not as fast as me, Duck!"
可他心裡想：「你還是沒我快，鴨子！」
Duck rang his bell as he rode toward Chicken.
鴨子一邊按鈴，一邊朝母雞騎過去。
"Hello, Chicken!" said Duck.
「你好，母雞！」鴨子說。
"Cluck! Cluck!"said Chicken.
「咯咯！」母雞應了一聲。
But what she thought was,"Watch where you re going , Duck!"
可她心裡想：「你看著點路，鴨子！」
Then Duck rode past Goat.
鴨子騎過山羊身邊。
"Hello, Goat!" said Duck.
「你好，山羊！」鴨子說。
"M-a-a-a" said Goat.
「呣——」山羊應了一聲。
But what he thought was,"I d like to eat that bike!"
可他心裡想：「我想吃那輛車子！」
Duck stood on the seat and rode past Pig and Pig.
鴨子單腳站到車座上，騎過豬和豬崽身邊。
"Hello, Pigs!" said Duck.
「你好，豬！」 鴨子說。
"Oink," said Pig and Pig.
「呼嚕——」豬和豬崽應了一聲。
But what they thought was,"Duck is such a show-off!
可他心裡想：「鴨子真愛出風頭！
Then Duck rode no-hands past Mouse.
鴨子撒開車把，騎過老鼠身邊。
"Hello, Mouse!" said Duck.
「你好，老鼠！」 鴨子說。
"Squeak," said Mouse.
「吱——」老鼠應了一聲。
But what he thought was,"I wish I could ride a bike just like Duck."
可他心裡想：「我真想像鴨子那樣騎車！」
Suddenly, a whole bunch of kids came down the road on bikes.
忽然，一大群孩子騎著自行車衝下路來。
They were in such a hurry that they didn t see Duck.
他們騎得特別快，誰也沒有看到鴨子。
They parked their bikes by the house and went inside.
他們把車停在門前，就進屋去了。
Now all the animals had bikes!
現在，所有的動物都有自行車騎了!
They rode around and around the barnyard.
他們在穀倉旁邊的空地上騎來騎去。
"This is fun!" they all said.
「真好玩！」他們異口同聲地說。
"Good idea, Duck!"
「鴨子，你的主意真棒！」
Then they put the bikes back by the house.
他們把自行車放回屋旁。
And no one knew that on that afternoon, there had been a cow,a sheep, a dog, a cat, a horse, a chicken, a goat, two pigs, a mouse, and a duck on a bike.
沒有人知道，那天下午，曾經有一頭母牛、一隻綿羊、一隻狗、一隻貓、一匹馬、一隻母雞、一隻山羊、兩頭豬、一隻老鼠和一隻鴨子騎過自行車。
