隨著好萊塢一年一度的電影學院獎（Academy Awards），也就是「奧斯卡」頒獎典禮於本月下旬舉行，我們想將二月設為#美國電影月，通過每日的關於美國影片和美國電影行業的帖子討論美國電影。
美國電影，是指由美國製片商在美國製作的電影，其對世界電影史有著深遠的影響。美國電影產業歷史可分為四個主要階段：無聲電影時期、經典的好萊塢時期，新好萊塢時期和當代電影(1980年以後)。自從1920年代，美國電影行業的獲利便為世界之冠，尤其南加州的好萊塢，為全球數一數二的最佳電影製作地。
#US Movie Month – American Films
With Hollywood’s annual Academy Awards or 「Oscars」 award ceremony later this month, we would like to dedicate February as #USMovieMonth to discuss American films through daily posts about American movies and the U.S. film industry.
American films refers to the movies produced by American producers in the United States which had had a profound impact on the history of world film. The history of the American film industry can be divided into four main stages: the silent film era, the classical Hollywood era, the new Hollywood era and the contemporary movie era (1980 onwards). Since the 1920s, the American film industry's profit has been the highest in the world, especially films from Hollywood in South California, which is the one of the best film making areas in the world.

美國電影協會（英語：Motion Picture Association of America，簡稱：MPAA）是由美國六大電影公司所成立的商業交易協會。其最初的目的主要是為其成員之間提供交流平臺，後成為一個依靠電影製作守則規範電影製作，並形成了今日的美國電影分級制度。
近年來，美國電影協會一直致力於代表美國電影和電視產業遊說美國及各國政府保護版權和消除貿易壁壘。美國電影協會長期以來打擊盜版，尤其是近年來通過點對點網絡分享版權作品的行為。民主黨前參議員克裡斯多夫·杜德目前擔任美國電影協會的董事會主席兼執行長。 http://www.mpaa.org/
#US Movie Month – MPAA
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is an American trade association that represents the six major Hollywood studios. In its formative years it took on the role of devising guidelines for film content which resulted in the creation of the Production Code, and currently administers the MPAA film rating system. More recently, the MPAA has advocated for the motion picture and television industry through lobbying to protect creative content from piracy and for the removal of trade barriers. The MPAA has long worked to curb copyright infringement, including recent attempts to limit the sharing of copyrighted works via peer-to-peer file-sharing networks. Former Democratic Senator Chris Dodd is the chairman and CEO.

#US Movie Month – American Film Institute
The American Film Institute was founded in 1967 as a national arts organization to train filmmakers and preserve America's vanishing film heritage. The National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities recommended creating AFI as a nonprofit "to enrich and nurture the art of film in America" with initial funding from the NEA, the Motion Picture Association of America and the Ford Foundation.The AFI Life Achievement Award, recognized as the highest honor for a career in film, held its first tribute in 1973. Honorees over the past years have included John Ford, James Cagney, Orson Welles, Bette Davis, Billy Wilder, Sidney Poitier, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, George Lucas and Al Pacino.
