五四青年節，B站推出了一支宣傳片《後浪》。這支宣傳片全文只有600多字，時長不到4分鐘，經由國家一級演員何冰動情演繹，給人留下深刻印象。
5月3日晚，該片的兩分鐘精簡版在央視《新聞聯播》前的黃金時段播出；5月4日當天，該片完整版更是刷爆了微信朋友圈。
一時間所有人都在討論如何定義「後浪」。
那麼「後浪」的英語怎麼說呢？
我們知道，「後浪」來源於一句古詩：長江後浪推前浪。
這裡，「後浪」比喻年輕一代。
所以如果沒有前後語境（解釋），直接把「後浪」翻譯成「the waves behind」或者「the rear waves」，由於缺乏文化背景，老外是無法理解的。
一般而言，可以把「後浪」的本體直接翻譯出來，也就是「年輕人」、「新世代」、「年輕一輩」。這麼一想，其實「後浪」的英語就非常簡單，可以翻譯為young people; youngsters; new generation; younger generation。
值得注意的是，美國人還有一個習慣，就是會把70後說成generation X；80後說成generation Y；90後說成generation Z。
另外，順便記一個詞：Millennials（千禧一代），指1981-1996之間出生的那一代人，一個詞涵蓋80、90後兩代人。
