Storyteller:Once upon a time, a cat, a dog, a mouse and a little red hen all lived together in a cosy little house.
旁白：從前，有一隻貓，一隻狗，一隻老鼠和一隻小紅母雞共同生活在一個溫暖舒適的小房子裡。
Cat: I like sleeping.How comfortable!
貓：我喜歡睡覺。睡覺多舒服呀！
Dog: I like napping under the tree. It makes me feel good!
狗：我喜歡在樹底下打盹，這種感覺真好！
Mouse:I like snoozing in the warm chair. Wow ,great!
老鼠：我喜歡在溫暖的椅子上小睡。哇，太棒了！
Hen :So I have to do all the housework.
小紅母雞：
因此我不得不做所有的家務。
I cook the meals,wash the dishes, and make the beds.
我做飯，洗衣，整理床鋪。
I sweep the floor and clean the windows.
我掃地，擦窗戶。
Story teller:One day，when the little red hen was hoeing the garden she found some grains of wheat.
一天，當小紅母雞在鋤花園的時候，她發現了一些麥種。
Hen :Wow, I found some grain of wheat. This wheat should be planted. Who will plant this wheat?
小紅母雞：哇，我發現了一些麥種。這些麥種應該被種在地裡，誰願意種這些麥種？
Cat: Not I.
我不種。
Dog: Not I.
我不種。
Mouse:Not I.
我不種。
Hen:Then I will.
好吧，那麼我來種！
Story teller: Each morning the little red hen watered the wheat and pulled the weeds. Soon the wheat pushed through the ground and began to grow tall. Later the wheat was ripe.
每天早上小紅母雞都給這些麥種澆水，拔草。沒過多久，種子就發芽了並且開始長高。很快，麥子就熟了。
Hen:The wheat was ripe. who will cut this wheat?
麥子熟了，誰願意割麥子？
Cat:Not I.
我不割。
Dog: Not I.
我不割。
Mouse:Not I.
我不割。
Hen:Then I will.
好吧，那麼我來割！
Hen:Ok,it’s finished. Now, who will take this wheat to the mill to be ground into flour?
好了，麥子割完了。現在誰願意把這些麥子帶到磨房磨成麵粉？
Cat:Not I.我不去。
Dog: Not I.我不去。
Mouse:Not I.我不去。
Hen:Then I will.那麼我去吧。
Story teller: The little red hen returned from the mill carrying a small bag of fine white flour.
小紅母雞從磨房回來，背著一小袋麵粉。
Hen: This is the flour.who will make a cake from this fine white flour?
這是麵粉，誰願意用這些麵粉做一個蛋糕？
Cat:Not I.
我不做
Dog: Not I.
我不做
Mouse:Not I.
我不做
Hen:Then I will.
那麼我來做！
Story teller: she gathered sticks and made a fire in the stove. Then she began to make the cake.
她找來木棍，在爐子裡生火。然後開始做蛋糕。
Hen:I need some milk and sugar and eggs and butter ,then mixed them in a big bowl with the fine white flour.
我需要一些牛奶，糖，雞蛋和黃油，然後把它們和在盛有麵粉的大碗裡。
Story teller:When the oven was hot she poured the Cake batter into a shinning pan and put it in the oven.Soon a delicious smell filled the cosy little house.
當爐子熱的時候，她把蛋糕麵糊倒進閃亮的平底鍋，然後把鍋放在烤箱裡，一會兒，一股香味就瀰漫在這個溫暖的小屋子。
Cat: what’s that I’m smilling? Smells mighty fine. I must go and have a look.
我聞到的是什麼？聞起來相當好聞，我必須去看一看。
Dog: ohh, it smells sooooo delicious dowm here. I must go and have a look.
哦，聞起來這麼香。我必須去看一看。
Mouse: wow, what’s that? Smells so good. I must go and have a look.
哇，這是什麼聞起來太香了，我必須去看一看。
Cat, dog, mouse: what are you doing,little red hen?
你在幹嗎呢，小紅母雞？
Hen:I am making the cake.
我正在做蛋糕。
Cat, dog, mouse:Wow,how beautiful!
哇，多美啊。
Hen:Thank you, now who will eat the cake?
謝謝，你們誰吃蛋糕呢？
Cat, dog, mouse: I will, I will, I will eat the cake.
我願意，我願意吃蛋糕。
Hen: No,you can’t. All by myself, I planted the wheat, I tended the wheat,I cut the wheat, I took the wheat to the mill tobe ground into flour.
不，你們不能。所有的事情都是我一人做的，我種麥子，照料麥子，割麥子，我把麥子帶到磨房磨成麵粉。
All by myself, I gathered the sticks, I built the fire, I mixed the cake. And all by myself. I’m going to eat it!
所有的事情都是我一人做的，我找來木柴，我生的火，我做的蛋糕。所以所有的蛋糕都應該由我來吃！
Story teller: so she began to eat the cake until the last crumb.
她吃完了整個蛋糕甚至連一點屑也沒剩。
After that,Whenever there was work to be done, the little red hen always had three very eager helpers.
從此以後，無論小紅母雞在幹什麼活，總會有三個非常願意幫忙的人。
