繪本故事 丨《Bear Snores On》打呼嚕的熊

貝爾熊在自己的洞穴裡打呼嚕，朋友們一個接一個溜進來，在他的洞穴裡開了一場歡樂的派對。突然，貝爾熊打了個大噴嚏，醒了過來。他看到一切後會有什麼反應呢？

In a cave in the woods,in his deep, dark lair, through the long, cold winter sleeps a great brown bear.

樹林裡有一個又黑又深的洞穴，在那裡沉睡著一隻巨大的棕熊，這是他的巢穴，他要在這裡度過漫長而寒冷的冬天。

Cuddled in a heap, with his eyes shut tight, he sleeps through the day, he sleeps through the night.

他抱成一團，眼睛緊閉著，就這樣，他睡過了白晝，睡過了黑夜。

The cold wind howl and the night sounds growl.

外面的寒風不分晝夜地咆哮著，但是，這隻熊仍然打著呼嚕沉睡著。

An itty-bitty mouse, pitter-pat,tip-toe, creep-crawls in the cave from the fluff-cold snow.

一隻小老鼠，窸窸窣窣，躡手躡腳的從風雪中爬進了洞穴。

Mouse squeaks," Too damp, too dank, too dark,"

小老鼠吱吱地叫著，「太潮了，太冷了，太黑了。」

So he lights wee twigs with a small, hot spark.

於是他藉助小火花點燃了一些小樹枝。

The coals pip-pop and the wind doesn't stop.

樹枝發出噼噼啪啪的聲音，而外面的大風仍然沒有停下來。

But the bear snores on.

但是，這隻熊仍然打著呼嚕沉睡著。

Two glowing eyes sneak-peek in the den.

兩隻發光的小眼睛在洞穴門口偷偷摸摸地往裡看。

Mouse cries, " who's there? "and a hare hops in.

小老鼠大叫道，「誰在那？」 一隻野兔蹦蹦跳跳地走了進來。

"Ho, Mouse! " says Hare.

「嗨，小老鼠！」兔子說道。

"Long time, no see!"

「好久不見呀！」 

So they pop white corn.

於是他們做了爆米花。

And they brew black tea.

還煮了紅茶。

Mouse sips wee slurps.

小老鼠小口嘖嘖地吸著紅茶。

Hare burps big BURPS!

野兔吃飽了打了個大大的響嗝！

But the bear snores on.

但是，這隻熊仍然打著呼嚕沉睡著。

A badger scuttles by, sniff-snuffs at the air.

一隻獾逃竄似的路過洞口，嗅了嗅空氣中的味道。

"I smell yummy-yums! Perhaps we can share?"

「我聞到好吃的味道啦！或許，我們可以一起分享？」

"I've brought honey-nuts," Badger says with a grin.

「我帶來了蜂蜜堅果，」獾咧著嘴笑著說道。

"Let's divvy them up, cozy down…and dig in!"

「讓我們來分一分，舒服地坐下來，再挖進去吧！」

And they nibble and they muuch with a CHEW-CHOMP-CRUNCH!

於是，他們便津津有味得吃了起來，輕咬，大力地咬，咀嚼，碾壓，發出了各種聲音。

But the bear snores on.

但是，這隻熊仍然打著呼嚕沉睡著。

A gopher and a mole tunnel up throughthe floor.

一隻地鼠和一隻鼴鼠打洞從地板裡鑽了出來。

Then a wren and a raven flutter in through the door!

然後，一隻小鳥和一隻渡鴉從門口飛了進來！

Mole mutters," What a night!"

鼴鼠咕噥道：「多麼糟糕的晚上！」

"What a storm!" twitters Wren.

「多麼恐怖的暴風雪！」鷦鷯嘰嘰喳喳地說道。

And everybody clutters in the great bear's den.

於是，所有人都亂鬨鬨地擠在大熊的洞穴裡。

They tweet and they titter.

他們嘰嘰喳喳，吵吵鬧鬧。

They chat and they chitter.

他們喋喋不休，談個沒完沒了。

But the bear snores on.

但是，這隻熊仍然打著呼嚕沉睡著。

In a cave in the woods, a slumbering bear sleeps through the party in his very ownlair.

在樹林的一個洞穴裡，一隻熟睡的熊，在吵鬧的聚會中，也能在自己的被窩裡沉睡著。

Hare stokes the fire.

兔子在燒火。

Mouse seasonsstew.

小老鼠為燉菜調味。

Then a small pepper fleck makes the bear…

這時，一個小胡椒顆粒打斷了熊的鼾聲.

RAAAAA-CHOOOOOO!!!!

啊啊啊秋嗚嗚嗚嗚！！！

Heblows and he sneezes, and the whole crowd freezes…

它吹著氣打了個大噴嚏，剛才還歡樂的大夥都呆住了....

And the bear WAKES UP!

熊醒了！

BEAR GNARLS and he SNARLS.

BEAR JUMPS and he STOMPS.

BEAR GROWLS and he GRUMBLES.

它咆哮著，怒吼著，暴跳跺腳，洞內隆隆作響。

"You've snuck in my lair and you'veall had fun!

But me? I was sleeping and…I have had none!"

And he whimpers and he moans,

he wails and he groans…

Mouse squeaks," Don't fret. Don'tfuss. Look,see?

We can pop more corn!

We can brew more tea!"

「你們擅自跑到我的洞裡來，還玩得這麼開心！

但是我？我在睡覺...我什麼都沒得到！」

它嗚咽著低聲抱怨著，呻吟著，邊哭邊抱怨…

熊又哭又鬧起來！

老鼠吱吱地說：

「不要發愁，不要著急，看，看見沒？

我們可以做更多的爆米花，

我們也可以煮更多的茶呀！」

Bear gulps.

熊吸了口氣。

Bear gobbles.

開始狼吞虎咽起來。

He sighs with delight,

他高興地鬆了口氣。

Then he spins tall tales through theblustery night.

然後它講著編造的好笑的故事，就這麼度過了狂風大作的夜晚。

When the sun peeks up on a crisp, cleardawn,

Bear can't sleep……

直到太陽悄悄露出了頭，灑出了一片清晰的晨曦，熊還睡不著.

But his friends snore on.

可是他的朋友們開始熟睡打鼾了。

人生的成功不過是在緊要處多一份堅持，人生的失敗往往是在關鍵時刻少了堅持。
