Govt asks Chinese in virus-hit countries to consider coming back
The Chinese government attaches great importance to the health of Chinese citizens currently in countries seriously impacted by the novel coronavirus epidemic, such as South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Iran, said Cui Aimin, director-general of the Foreign Ministry's Department of Consular Affairs.
These people can directly fly back to China or come via a third country, as these nations have not yet shut down public transport, Cui said at a news conference held by the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism on Sunday.
If the situation in those countries worsens, the Chinese government will take further actions to help bring them back to China, Cui said. (China Daily)

中國外交部領事司司長崔愛民3月1日在國務院聯防聯控機制新聞發布會上表示，在目前已經確診病例較多的韓國、日本、義大利和伊朗等國，有不少的華僑和留學生等人員，目前這些國家還沒有完全斷絕與外界的公共運輸，所以我們當地的人員可以選擇以直航或中轉繞道的方式回國。如果疫情進一步的發展，當地人員的健康安全受到嚴重威脅，我們將採取必要措施，積極協助和安排他們回國。
Over 50 pct coronavirus patients didn't have fever, paper says
More than half of all coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals did not have a fever, and many did not have abnormal radiologic findings, a recent study has found.
The study, published Friday on the New England Journal of Medicine’s website, said only 43.8 percent of patients had a fever during admittance, and the ratio grew to 88.7 percent during hospitalization.
Coughing was reported in 67.8 percent of the patients, making that the most common symptom alongside fever, while diarrhea was uncommon (3.8 percent), according to the research team led by Zhong Nanshan, a prominent scientist who heads a government-appointed panel of experts to help control the coronavirus outbreak.
The research found the median incubation period was four days, though in one case, the virus was found to have incubated for 24 days. (China Daily)

日前，中國國家衛健委高級別專家組組長鍾南山院士團隊論文在國際頂級醫學期刊《新英格蘭醫學雜誌》在線發表。該研究指出，近一半的新冠患者在入院時可能尚未出現發熱。一些患者在入院時無任何影像學異常表現。

Last crew members leave cruise ship quarantined near Tokyo
The final group of about 130 crew members left the Diamond Princess on Sunday.
Japanese Health Minister Katsunobu Kato said at a news conference the ship is now empty and ready for sterilization and safety checks to prepare for its next voyage. He did not give a timeline.
The US-operated Diamond Princess had carried an infected passenger before returning to its homeport in Yokohama, near Tokyo, on February 3. Of the 3,711 passengers and crew members, 705 were infected on the ship, triggering international criticism of the quarantine and Japan's disease control capability. (AP)

Turkish forces shoot down two Syrian planes
Turkish forces shot down two Syrian planes in Syria's northwestern Idlib region. The pilots from both aircraft ejected and activated their parachutes and landed safely, Syrian state media reported Sunday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor, said the two SU-24 planes fell in the regime-held territory, likely after being targeted by Turkish F-16 warplanes.
Turkey's defense ministry confirmed it struck the Syrian warplanes on Sunday but did not confirm who was responsible. (CGTN)

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson engaged with girlfriend
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds are engaged and expecting a baby in early summer.
This will be Johnson's sixth child, however, it will be the first child born to his 31-year-old partner.

China's Potala Palace holds first-ever livestream tour
The Potala Palace, a landmark in Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, held a live stream tour on Sunday, marking a first-ever in its over 1,300-year history.
The online tour was live-streamed on China's e-commerce platform Taobao, according to the palace's management. A tour guide from the management bureau introduced the palace's history at the foot of the mountain where it was built.
During the one-hour online tour, the guide led viewers through a classic route while explaining the craftsmanship of the palace’s architecture and cultural relics.
The Potala Palace, built in the seventh century, is a model of ancient architecture and home to over 100,000 cultural relics. (Xinhua)

Golden State star Curry not quite ready to return Sunday
Stephen Curry had hoped to play for the Warriors on Sunday at home against the Washington Wizards after being sidelined for four months, but he won't return from a broken left hand quite that soon.
Golden State said Saturday that Curry is participating in full scrimmages during practice and "continues to make good progress in his recovery." He is scheduled to practice with the G-League Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday and is still expected to play in March, the Warriors said.
Curry has played only four games this season, falling on his hand on October 30 against the Suns. (AP)
