下雪了，穿羽絨服的季節來了。
一直以為羽絨服會和 feather之類的單詞有關。查了相關資料才知道，其實羽絨服的英文是 down coat，真的不是feather coat。
下面這個才是feather coat。
down 這個詞，除了表示「向下」以外，作為名詞還有「羽絨」 「絨毛」的意思（Down consists of the small, soft feathers on young birds. Down is used to make bed-covers and pillows），比如：goose down pillow鵝絨被。羽絨服除了叫做down coat，還可以是down jacket。
此外，down還能表示絨毛狀的物體something soft and fluffy like down）。
