what的用法

what的用法很多，這裡跟您歸納一下，what大致可以分為三類詞性使用：

一、用作疑問代詞，用來構成特殊疑問句：

1.與表示人的名詞或人稱代詞連用，用來提問對方或第三者的職業或身份。

例如：
What is Comrade Liu 

劉同志是做什麼的？

「What are you」 「你是做什麼的？」

「I'm a worker.」「我是工人。」

2. 與介詞like連用，表示「怎麼樣」和「象什麼」的意思。

例如：
What is the weather like today ？

今天天氣怎麼樣？

What is the elephant's leg like 

大象的腿象什麼？

What does your girlfriend look like 

你女朋友長得什麼樣？

3. 與about連用，用來表示徵求意見或詢問消息，表示「對於……怎麼樣」的意思。

例如：

What (is your opinion) about going out for a walk？ 

我們出去散散步怎麼樣？

You didn't recognize your uncle at the station at once What about your elder sister 
你在車站沒有立即認出你叔叔？那你姐姐呢？

4. 與介詞for連用，表示「為了什麼目的」的意思。

例如：

二、用作疑問形容詞：

1.用來表示「多少」的意思。

例如：
What does a Chinese-English dictionary cost ？

買一本漢英辭典要多少錢？

What's the date today？

今天幾號？

2. 用來構成感嘆句，表示「多麼」的意思。

例如：
What a happy life we are living! 

(= What a happy life we are having!

=What a happy life we are leading!

=What a happy life we are enjoying!) 

我們過著多麼幸福的生活啊！

3. 用來說明名詞，作前置定語，表示「什麼」和「怎樣的」的意思。

例如：
What time is it by your watch？

你的表幾點了？

What time do you get up every day？

你每天什麼時間起床？
What size do you want ？

你要多大尺寸的？ 

三、用作連接代詞，用來引導主語從句，賓語從句和表語從句。

例如：
What you said just now is very important. 

你剛才說的很重要。（引導主語從句）

1. 「What ...is ...」是個強調句型，常譯為「……的是……」，what通常作主語從句的賓語，有時也可作主語從句的主語。

例如：

What troubles me most is that I don't know how to tell her the bad news. 
最使我苦惱的是我不知道該怎樣告訴她這個壞消息才好。

2. 「is」後可接一般的表語，也可接表語從句。

例如：

I didn't understand what you had said. 

我不理解你說的話。（引導賓語從句）

The question is what we can tell him. 

問題是我們能告訴他什麼。（引導表語從句）

此外，what可用在不定式前，和不定式一起在句中作賓語、主語或表語。

例如：
I don't know what to do. 

我不知道該做什麼好。

What to do has not been decided yet. 

做什麼還未決定。
