一隻飢餓的駝鹿前來造訪，好心的小男孩便給了它一塊鬆餅 (muffin）。可是，光有鬆餅怎麼夠呢？駝鹿又向小男孩要了一些果醬 (jam)。不一會兒，駝鹿就把沾有果醬的鬆餅吃完啦，可是它還是很餓呀！於是它又向小男孩要了一塊(another) 又一塊 (another) 又一塊 (another)，終於把小男孩家的鬆餅都吃完咯！

If you give a moose a muffin,
如果你給駝鹿一個鬆餅，
he'll want some jam to go with it.
他會想要一些果醬就著吃。
So you'll bring out some of your mother's homemade blackberry jam.
於是你就會拿點兒媽媽自己做的黑莓果醬給他。
When he's finished eating the muffin, he'll want another.
當他吃完鬆餅，他會想再要一個。
And another.
再要一個。
And another.
再要一個。
When they're all gone, he'll ask you to make more.
當所有鬆餅都吃完的時候，他會跟你要更多。
You'll have to go to the store to get some muffin mix.
你就要去商店買點鬆餅材料。
He'll want to go with you.
他會想要跟你一起去。
When he opens the door and feels how chilly it is,
當他打開門，他會覺得非常冷，
he'll ask to borrow a sweater.
他就會跟你借一件毛衣。
When he puts the sweater on,
當他穿上毛衣，
he'll notice one of the buttons is loose.
他會注意到有一顆紐扣鬆了。
He'll ask for a needle and thread.
他會要針和線。
He'll start sewing.
然後他就開始縫補了。
The button will remind him of the puppets his grandmother used to make.
這個紐扣讓他想起了過去他的奶奶給他做的玩偶。
So he'll ask for some old socks.
所以他要了一點舊襪子。
He'll make sock puppets.
他想做些襪子玩偶。
When they're done, he'll want to put on a puppet show.
做成了之後，他想開一個襪子玩偶展。
He'll need some cardboard and paints.
他會要一點兒卡紙和顏料。
Then he'll ask you to help make the scenery.
然後他會讓你幫他做點布景。
When the scenery is finished, he'll get behind the couch.
做完了，他會到沙發後面。
But his antlers will stick out.
但是他的鹿角會伸出來。
So he'll ask for something to cover them up.
因此他就會要點東西把鹿角遮起來。
You'll bring him a sheet from your bed.
你就會從床上那一條床單。
When he sees the sheet,
當他看到那條床單，
he'll remember he wants to be a ghost for Halloween.
他就會想起來他想在萬聖節那天扮成一個鬼。
He'll try it on and shout,
他會穿上，然後大聲說，
"Boo".
「嗙。」
It'll scare him so much, he'll knock over the paints.
這會嚇到他，嚇得把顏料都打翻。
So he'll use the sheet to clean up the mess.
於是，他就會用床單清理殘局。
Then he'll ask for some soap to wash it out.
於是，他就會要一些肥皂洗一洗。
He'll probably want to hang the sheet up to dry.
他可能還會想要把床單晾起來吹乾。
He'll go outside to put it on the clothesline.
他可能會出去把床單放到晾衣繩上。
When he's out in the yard,
當他到院子裡，
he'll see your mother's blackberry bushes.
他會看到媽媽的黑莓灌木。
Seeing the blackberries will remind him of her jam.
看到這些黑莓，他就會想起媽媽的黑莓果醬。
He'll probably ask you for some.
他可能會跟你要點果醬。
And chances are…
十有八九，
if you give him the jam,
如果你給了他果醬，
he'll want a muffin to go with it.
他還會要一個鬆餅，好讓他就著果醬一起吃。
