錢買不到

《錢買不到的東西》的作者麥可•桑德爾（Michael Sandel）說：「有些東西金錢買不到──但在現今的世代，這些東西不多。」一個人可以用一晚90美元的代價，換到較舒適的牢房，用25萬美元買到射殺瀕臨絕種犀牛的權利，用1500美元買到你醫生的手機號碼。看起來「幾乎一切都是待價而沽」。
但有一樣是金錢買不到的，那就是「救贖」──從罪的束縛中得到的自由。當使徒保羅開始寫到上帝透過耶穌成就的救贖計劃是何等豐富時，他的心滿溢讚美：「我們藉這愛子的血得蒙救贖，過犯得以赦免，乃是照祂豐富的恩典。這恩典是上帝用諸般智慧聰明，充充足足賞給我們的。」（以弗所書1章7-8節）
耶穌在十架上的死，是救我們脫離罪惡的高昂贖價。只有祂能付出此價，因為祂是上帝完美的兒子。對於這白白得來卻又昂貴的恩典，我們會很自然地心生頌讚，並委身於這位藉耶穌贖回我們的上帝（1章13-14節）。
讚美我們慈愛的上帝──祂已來到，為要釋放我們得自由！
天父，禰對我們的愛是何等奇妙！
禰賜下愛子，祂甘願為我們而死，
這幾乎好得難以置信。
感謝禰！
只有耶穌的死，能買贖我們的自由。

「There are some things money can’t buy—butthese days, not many」 according to Michael Sandel, author of What Money Can’tBuy. A person can buy a prison-cell upgrade for $90 a night, the right to shootan endangered black rhino for $250,000, and your doctor’s cell phone number for $1,500. It seemsthat 「almost everything is up for sale.」
But one thingmoney can’t buy is redemption—freedom from the stranglehold of sin. When theapostle Paul began writing about the rich nature of God’s plan of salvationthrough Jesus, his heart erupted in praise: 「In Him we have redemption throughHis blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace whichHe made to abound toward us」 (Eph. 1:7-8).
Jesus』 death onthe cross was the high cost of delivering us from sin. And only He could paythat price because He was the perfect Son of God. The natural response to suchfree but costly grace is spontaneous praise from our hearts and commitment tothe God who bought us through Jesus (1:13-14).
Praise to ourloving God—He has come to set us free!
