這裡的「make a big deal out of...」是指「大驚小怪」，與此相對應的還有「not a big deal」，意思是「不是什麼大事，沒什麼大不了的」。

一般來說胃疼沒什麼大事。

還在廁所裡的老爹，被媳婦來個擁抱，這是老爹著急說：

別，別碰我，我上廁所呢，出去。
這裡有一個很有意思的表達是「john」，注意這裡開頭小寫的john不是指人名，而是在美式英語中指茅房、廁所（非正式用語）。
john=a toilet
所以大家要注意，當老美說「I'm on the john」不是說在john的身上，而是指上廁所。
