新東方:「高考」用英語怎麼說?

　　高考是「高等學校招生全國統一考試「的簡稱。在我國大部分地區，現階段在每年的6月7日和6月8日進行，也就是說，今天高考就正式落下帷幕了。那麼」高考「用英語怎麼說呢?我們一起來學習吧*_*。

　　「高考」用英語怎麼說?

　　首先，英美國人對高考的理解貌似跟我們不太一樣，有些人認為它可以籠統地算作一場考試，因此用的是單數exam;而有些人認為它是一系列的考試，所以要用複數exams，各有各的道理。

　　其次，這個「高」(高等學校)是翻譯成college還是university?我們常常聽到的解釋是「college是學院，而university是綜合性大學」。其實都可以，尤其是在美國英語中，MacMillan English Dictionary - American是這樣解釋college的：in the U.S., a place that gives students degrees. A school of this type can also be called a university if it is large enough to give degrees in more than one subject。

　　因此，「高考」可譯為：

　　the national college entrance exam

　　直譯是「全國大學入門考試」。

　　注意事項：

　　1. 每個單詞一般都不大寫，除非在句首;

　　2. 其中的college說成university也可以，exam用exams也可以。
