1. so that 引導目的狀語從句，意為「以便;為了」，相當於in order to/so as to.常放於句中，但是in order to常放於句首或句中，so as to常放於句末。
eg: Xiao Hua studies hard so that she can get a good grade in last examination. 肖華學習努力是為了在期末考試中取一個好成績。
My sister made a model plane so that she could help with her friend studying the science last night. 昨天晚上我妹妹製作了一個飛機模型以便她能幫助她的朋友學習科學。
In order to watch the soccer game, I stayed up late last Saturday. 為了觀看足球比賽，上周六我熬夜了。
My mother often gets up early in order to make breakfast for me. 我媽媽通常起床很早以便給我做早餐。
She buys a new dress so as to join Lisa's birthday party. 她買了一條新裙子是為了參加麗莎的生日派對。
2. so…that…意為「如此……以至於……」，so是副詞，常常用來修飾形容詞和副詞，that引導結果狀語從句，常和too…to…結構互換。
eg: I am so tired that I want to sleep right now. 我是如此的累以至於我想馬上睡覺。
She is so beautiful that all boys want to make friends with her. 她是如此的美麗以至於所有的男孩們都想和她做朋友。
My sister is too young to go to school. 我妹妹是如此的小以至於不能去上學。=My sister is so young that she can't go to school.
